Local products
I hope that EMD will help Philippine local shoe factories against imported cheap shoes.
This museum is not only the exhibition center of the more than 3000 pairs of shoes, but also a window showing the hundred years old Marley Gila shoe making technology.
Marley Gila's shoes have been famous both at home and abroad, but the situation of cheap shoes in China and Vietnam has been changing in recent years.
TessieEndriga, a footwear consultant, said that when he was in office, he did not provide money or public construction in Marcus, but he helped them in another way.
Enrui, who worked in the government's product standards agency, said: "Yi Mei Dai often patronized local brands. If you look at a certain style, you will buy a dozen."
Although the former curator of the the Bata Shoe Museum, Bai Long, admitted that most of her shoes were imported shoes, she said there were also many of them.
Tayaba, chairman of the Marley Gila business association, said: "you can spend 5 years on a pair of JoseTayawa shoes, and you can buy a pair of Chinese shoes at 1/5 prices, but you can only wear them for a couple of months."
According to the Philippine website, the people of Philippines wore Marley Gila shoes for generations. The snake shoes they made made a sensation in the early 80s in the Fifth Avenue of New York.
The Trade Union chief executive of Philippines footwear union said that the natural disasters and foreign manufacturers' competition made the Philippine footwear industry hurt. At the peak of the mid 90s, there were 3000 shoe factories in malayi, and now only 200.
Officials say visitors to the museum see EMD also love to buy local shoes, and may also want to buy malayi's shoes. They will set up shoe exhibitions in the center of the city, specializing in the sale of main commodities and displaying the quality of the Philippines in the world.
