    ANNA&Nbsp; SUI: Retro And Gorgeous

    2010/11/5 11:44:00 49

    ANNA SUI

As the third generation of Chinese immigrants. Anna Sui (Anna Sui) was born in Detroit, USA in 1955. "I owe my success to my parents to a great extent." Anna Sui said, "I learned a lot about Chinese culture from my parents. I benefited a lot from their daily conversation. This helped me to eliminate the fear of developing abroad, and their experience was the best gift for me."

Anna Sui's father is a building engineer and his mother studies painting. They met in Paris when they were still students. After their marriage, they traveled in Europe for 3 years and finally settled in the United States. Father continued to study at University of Michigan. From his father, Anna Sui learned how to run businesses and get artistic inspiration from his mother.

In the student days, Anna Sui often cut out some pictures from magazines, and set future dreams in fashion design.

"When I was 4 years old, I was dreaming of becoming a" Designer " Anna Sui said, "I don't know where I came from. This idea may be the inspiration from TV. I always fantasize and look forward to the wonderful life of a designer, a fantastic idea, a picture book, a model, and then a delicious meal.

When she was a child, Anna Sui often went shopping with her mother, watched her sewing, and then took some pieces of herself to make some clothes for dolls. "When I master how to use patterns, I start to help myself make clothes." Anna Sui said.

Anna Sui read an article from life magazine about two girls who graduated from Parson School of design in New York, and then came to Paris, Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton for them. Paris Opened a boutique.

"As a girl, I was so excited that I found a shortcut to my dream. The only thing I wanted to do was go to New York and go to Parson." Anna Sui said.

In the 70s of last century, Anna Sui went to New York Parsons design school to learn costume design. "I went to Parson later. In the second years there, I and two senior classmates got a chance to work together with Charlie 's Girls and Erica Elias. After that, I was so excited that I cast my resume and got the job. It's a heaven! But she only went to school for a year, and dropped out in second years. "

Her reason is that school courses are boring and waste time. However, she also admitted that some experiences in Parson have given her valuable experience. "This is probably the best job I can think of, because Erica has given me my own studio, where I have a tailor and a cloth distributor. They have 5 departments that allow me to design swimsuits, sportswear and sweaters. I learned many things. She is a very strict boss. Of course, if she hadn't been strict with me at that time, I might not have grasped some opportunities in the future. When Charlie 's Girls is turned off, the name of Erica can also be seen in the design of many sports brands. She said.

After leaving school, Anna Sui went to a women's clothing company as an assistant. Although the company was closed for a year and a half, Anna Sui was familiar with the fabric market. She knew where to find the best materials and what the best prices were.

Over the next 5 years, Anna Sui has switched to many companies, learning a variety of clothing design and fabric knowledge. In 1980, she made 4 costumes and displayed them in a clothing store. Soon, she got the order from the famous Messi and Brown Ming Dale department store. "Anna Sui (Anna Sui)" brand began to build a reputation.

In the 80s of last century, there was a major change in the fashion design industry. No matter at formal banquet or other occasions, people no longer wore the same designer's clothes from head to toe. Soon, fashion revival prevail in fashion circles. Anna Sui realized that her chance was coming: "I feel at once that this is my best design, and I believe I will be lucky."

In 1981, Anna Sui wanted to create its own brand. At the beginning, it felt that it was impossible to start. Some friends just designed and sold jewelry themselves and tried to promote them at the exhibition. Anna Sui made 5 dresses and exhibited them with their exhibits. To her great delight, she received an order from Macy and Bloomingdale (Anna Sui went to Time). "At that time, I was still working in Glenora company. The boss saw the advertisement on Time and asked, "is this our employee? Why does she appear on Time?" If I don't stop, he will fire me. Then I left.

"So, I started to run my own brand. I started my design in a corner of my apartment. Anna Sui said.

In 1990, the "Anna Sui" brand went through tenth years, but she never thought that I would have a fashion show of my own. At that time, Anna Sui had many friends in the fashion circle, including photographer Steven Meisel, fashion editor Paul Cavaco, hairstylist Garren and makeup artist Francois Nars. There were the top models Linda Evangelista, Naomi Campbell and Christy Turlington at that time. At that time, Anna Sui's apartment was like a club, these friends would hold birthday parties in the apartment, because Anna Sui had a better relationship with these fashion dealers.

"All my friends encouraged me to hold a fashion show. It was the time when Chanel and Versace were very popular. Competing with these big names was something I was afraid of at that time. I think I should stick to my ideas and ideas so that I can gain a foothold in the fashion industry.

In 1991, Anna Sui released its first fashion show and opened its first boutique in New York. In 1996, Anna Sui set up Asia's first boutique in Tokyo and set off a purple cyclone in Japan. The smart Japanese saw business opportunities in the style of Anna Sui (Anna Sui). The group finally reached an agreement with Anna Sui to authorize the Anna Sui brand cosmetics. In 1998, Anna Sui cosmetics was officially born in Japan.

"Autumn 1991 is my first fashion show, and it is also a milestone in my career." Through this show, Anna Sui soon got some media attention. At that time, many Japanese businessmen came to New York to find excellent designers. Among many businessmen, Anna Sui finally chose Yi Dan. Yi Shi Dan made Anasu's design popular in Asia. With their help, they have an independent Anna Sui boutique in Japan.

Anna Sui's products are extremely confusing. No matter clothing, accessories or make-up, it can make people feel a sharp eye-catching and almost coloring. The fashion world called her "the wizard of New York". She is best at finding inspiration from the chaotic art form. Her works are full of eccentricity and decadence of rock music. In advocating minimalism today, Anna Sui is against the trend. The design is full of strong retro color and gorgeous luxury. However, Anna Sui is gorgeous but practical. It can make fashionable women of the city play their boundless creativity and combine with each other to show their unique personality charm.

The fashion of Anna Sui is permeated with strong retro scent and gorgeous luxurious unique temperament. Bold and rebellious, embroidery, lace, hot drill, embroidered bead, fur and so on, all gorgeous decorations are set in her design, forming her unique style of witch like psychedelic magic.

"People are attracted by my retro elements, all of which emanate the charm of women and girls." In the design of Anna Sui, there are always some rock elements, and some ambiguous things, no matter the girl or the rebellious girl will like it very much. All these things will be reflected in the design of Anna Sui.

"I am a pragmatic designer. I realized that clothes in fashion shows are quite different from what customers really buy. In her boutique, through observation and conversation, Anna Sui knows what her customers need. "My greatest sense of achievement comes from customers." Anna Sui said, "one of my customers said to me one day," I bought a Anna Sui skirt 10 years ago, and now every time my husband puts on it, my husband says it is beautiful. " What is better than this?
