Xinji, Shijiazhuang, is the largest leather sheepskin base in Asia and the largest production and trading center of sheepskin garments in China. There are 1148 leather enterprises, 286 export enterprises and more than 60 thousand employees, producing 39 million 400 thousand leather skins and 6 million 650 thousand leather goods annually, with annual sales revenue of 9 billion 120 million yuan, of which 20 enterprises have annual sales of over 100 million yuan.

Xinji's leather products are widely distributed in the main markets at home and abroad. 25 enterprises have established direct selling windows in Beijing. 135 enterprises have set up direct selling points in border markets such as Suifenhe and Heihe. 8 companies have registered marketing companies in the United States and Canada, and 21 enterprises have entered the European and American markets and East Asian markets. 330 enterprises have launched direct selling in Russia and Eastern Europe.

Wuji county is China's largest base for processing leather and hide leather, with nearly 50 thousand employees and annual production capacity of 220 million square feet. It is famous at home and abroad, such as cowhide sofa leather, soft upper leather, garment leather, luggage leather and so on. It has been sold to many countries and regions, such as Russia, Korea and Taiwan, and has a high market share.

In recent years, in order to further improve the quality and grade of leather and fur products in our city, the Hebei Leather Research Institute, Xinji branch of China Leather Research Institute, and Xinji leather Productivity Promotion Center have been established, and have established cooperative relations with 11 famous scientific research institutions such as Tsinghua University and Beijing Institute Of Fashion Technology.

Italy, the United States, Germany, Spain and other famous experts have been invited to serve as technical consultants. We have successfully developed new leather products including fur leather, automobile cushion leather, washable leather and shrink leather.

Today, in this field, a number of leather brands, renowned at home and abroad, have been created. The brand "Shulan", "Dongming" and "Yulu Qi" brand have been named "China famous brand products". Two leather enterprises of SimMan and Shulan won the title of China leather clothing. 34 brands of leather products were allowed to wear "China leather logo", 31 enterprises passed the ISO9000 quality management system certification, 3 enterprises registered trademarks abroad, and promoted the rapid development of leather industry in our city.
