Tian Hong: Most Of The "Cashmere Sweaters" Sold In The Market Are Woolen Sweaters.
"Although it is also known as cashmere sweater, a large portion of the consumer wears a real cashmere sweater, because these so-called cashmere sweaters do not contain cashmere." At the news conference of "2010 China international cashmere fair" held in Beijing, Tian Hong, director of animal products Department of China food, native and Animal Import and export chamber, gave out the truth of the industry.
Tian Hong explained the reasons from two aspects of technology and market.
First of all, strictly speaking, sheep do not produce cashmere, cashmere can only come from some goats. Many of the so-called cashmere sweaters on the market are actually wool, not cashmere. "There are essential differences between wool and cashmere. From the physical structure analysis, "Mao" and "velvet" is not the same. Tian Hong said that the quality of cashmere is far higher than wool in terms of comfort and warmth.
Secondly, most cashmere goats come from the alpine region, and the output is very limited. In the world, cashmere has only about 10 thousand tons per year, of which 7000~8000 tons are restricted by various conditions in China, and the output can not be greatly improved. In this case, cashmere is actually a scarce commodity. Therefore, many cashmere products in the market are not pure cashmere, some of them are wool, not cashmere, and some are cashmere with different proportions.
In terms of quality and scarcity, "cashmere is a luxury, really a luxury." Tian Hong said. According to Tian Hong, the price of cashmere raw materials is running high this year, and the selling price of terminal products has not correspondingly adjusted accordingly. This has brought challenges to cashmere products manufacturers, which has also brought pressure to the quality of cashmere products.
It is understood that the Chinese food, soil and Animal Import and Export Chamber of Commerce has undertaken the Ministry of Commerce's "technical requirements for classification standards of cashmere products". The core content of this standard is to divide cashmere into 5 grades, namely, the best quality, super grade, quality, general and economical type through the technical indexes of fiber length and diameter, so as to enhance the transparency and credibility of the cashmere terminal market, protect consumers' right to know, and ultimately achieve the purpose of cultivating and upgrading cashmere consumption market. The forum will introduce specific content to the industry and listen to the industry's response. "Whether it is cashmere sweater, cashmere scarf or other cashmere products, I hope that consumers in the future market can identify the quality of goods at a glance." Tian Hong said.
Tian Hong said that despite many difficulties, China's cashmere industry has a bright future. He said that China has become the fastest growing and most potential cashmere consumer market in the world. The consumption of Chinese cashmere has opened up room for growth. Many familiar cashmere enterprises have already outperformed exports. At the same time, building brands and building marketing channels has become the focus of competition among all cashmere enterprises. Traditional enterprises continue to consolidate their market position, and new brands and new enterprises continue to enter the domestic consumer market. According to Li Yuying, fashion project manager of Asia Limited, the 2010 China international cashmere Fair will be held in from November 23rd to 25th at the China National Convention Center in Beijing. Dozens of famous domestic cashmere enterprises such as Ordos, Saussurea, Weixin and St. John's Velvet will launch the latest products at the exhibition. A considerable number of foreign cashmere enterprises also hope to enter the cashmere market through trade fair. Buyers from Asia, Europe and America will go to Beijing to seek business opportunities and industry information.
According to the briefing, the Fifth China international cashmere forum will be held during the current trade fair. The industry and testing institutions will make in-depth discussions on the impact of cashmere quality on the market and related quality assurance measures and testing methods.
In view of the doubt that "cashmere sweaters and other cashmere products are not fashionable enough," Li Yuying said that the global cashmere color exhibition area was set up to stimulate the design inspiration of cashmere products. Tian Hong said that cashmere clothing is quite different from other garments. Cashmere has unique requirements in dyeing and other crafts. Many designs need to be built on the basis of technology. "In the cashmere industry, designers sometimes have to be engineers." Tian Hong said.
