I. import tariff system

As a member of the world trade organization, the tariff level is generally low.

Below 25%, the tariff rate is very wide.
The tariff on basic food is very low, not more than 5%.
The average duty rate for major goods is about 5%.
The average tax rate for intermediate goods and pport equipment is less than 20%.
Consumer goods have higher tax rates, some up to 60%.
The tariff rate for high priced motor vehicles is higher than 100%.
In sum, only 91 of the total imports of about 600 items have a tariff rate of more than 50%.
As a member of the ASEAN Free Trade Area (AFTA), Mayasi A's tariff concession will be implemented in the AFTA Ordinance on the "universal effective preferential tariff" (CEPT) plan.
Mayasi A's main import products are divided into three categories, the first is raw materials, production materials, including electronic raw materials, textiles, plastics, machine parts, petroleum, fertilizer, pesticides and food, accounting for 42.6% of the total imports; the second category is machinery and equipment, including metal products, mechanical pport equipment, electronic instruments, heavy machinery and telecommunications equipment, accounting for 34.5% of the total imports; third categories are daily necessities, including motorcycles, bicycles, jewellery and food, accounting for 21.9% of the total imports.
Malaysian imports are subject to a 5% surcharge at CIF (CIF) value.
Some basic goods such as fish, Cereals, salt, petroleum products, rubber, paper and printed matter are exempt from additional taxes.
Consumption tax on beer, alcohol and other beverages, cigarettes, petrol, mineral oil and sugar, tires, cards, air conditioners, batteries, television receivers, motor vehicles and motorcycles, matches and so on is subject to ad valorem or volume.
Two.
Import control
1. import documents
(1) the original invoice of commercial invoice used to collect tariffs is required to be completed and signed in English.
The invoice must include the following items: marking, number, number and type of package, detailed commodity name, non-technical name or internal label code, gross and net weight, FOB, CIF cost and CIF price (for different customs duties items, and each commodity must be separately marked at CIF price), place of shipment and origin.
The description of the package must be identical with the invoice, and the invoice must be three copies in one copy.
(2) certificate of origin is only for goods from federally states.
(3) Bill of lading bill of lading does not need to be notarized.
Permitted to use instruction B / L, but indicate the address of the notified person.
2. special provisions
All the details of the commodity description, the metric weight and the origin of the goods must be marked on the labels of the completed packages in the Baja Sarai language. English is allowed to be used in second languages only.
All packaged products must have the following description: the name, origin, packaging content and product name of the producer, importer or wholesaler.
Food, drugs, livestock and meat must also be marked with health quarantine requirements, including labelling requirements.
The following terms are indicated in Malaysia language: origin, trade description, weight, storage period, importer's name and address.
The packaging of cigarettes must be printed in Mayan language with a clear warning of damage to health.
3. handling of unclaimed goods
Goods that are not extracted by buyers within 21 days can be retained in customs warehouses.
The consignee should be overdue within 7 days, otherwise the customs will auction.
The proceeds from the auction are used to pay customs declaration fees, warehousing charges and all other expenses.
Air cargo must be collected within 72 hours, otherwise a high storage penalty will be imposed.
The goods will not be collected after 3 months, and will be returned.

The vast majority of concessionary manufacturers enjoy preferential treatment in enterprises such as Sen Mei Wang, Senna, Kedah, and Johore industrial zone.
