Suzhou'S Six Textile Relics Duplicates Won Two Prize

The National Conference on the protection of cultural relics and technology was concluded in Beijing, and the third national cultural relics protection science and technology innovation award was awarded by the Suzhou Silk Museum and the Qian Xiaoping ancient Silk replication Institute of Suzhou. The project "excavation and exhibition of textile weaving technology in Eastern Zhou Dynasty" was awarded the two prize.

Six prize winning Eastern Zhou hunting brocade and so on are from Suzhou.

The textile relics that have been successfully copied by technicians are of great significance to the study of China's science and technology history and the world's textile history.

During the Eastern Zhou Dynasty, China's textile production technology has improved rapidly.

It has become more and more diverse and has become an important development period in the world's textile history.

Especially in 2007, Jingan County, Jiangxi, a tomb of Eastern Zhou Dynasty, more than 300 textiles unearthed from China, became an important cultural relic to study textile weaving technology in the Eastern Zhou Dynasty.

To this end, the State Cultural Relics Bureau has set up the research topic of "excavation and display of textile weaving technology in Eastern Zhou Dynasty" - an example of unearthed textiles, and incorporated it into the "compass plan" for mining and displaying brilliant ancient Chinese inventions.

The replication Institute has undertaken most of the projects.

After more than a year's research, the technicians successfully copied the "hunting brocade brocade", "strip geometric shape brocade" and "square hole yarn" unearthed from the tomb of Eastern Zhou Dynasty in Jing'an, Jiangxi. The "hollow bird geometric shape brocade", "rhombic hexagonal braided tapes" excavated from Chu tomb in Mashan, Jiangling, Jiangling, and the "hollow skew marshalling" unearthed from Hubei Jingzhou eight Ling Lian Xin stone factory were excavated.

Among them, the meridian density reaches 240 centimeters per centimeter "hunting brocade", so far the highest density of ancient Chinese tapestry.

Experts believe that "the excavation and display of textile weaving technology in Eastern Zhou Dynasty -- Taking unearthed textiles as an example" has formed a complete set of work ideas and research methods, that is, taking the history of science and technology as the leading role, combining natural science with social science as the means, recovery research as the way, and popularization of science as the goal.

A series of research achievements obtained by this project have explored the method of "compass project", highlighted the role of scientific test methods in the study of cultural relics, and revealed the great space for natural science and technology to excavate cultural relics value.

At present, the copy of "hunting brocade brocade" is participating in the exhibition of "100 workers and thousands of wisdom - China's cultural relics protection science and Technology Achievements Exhibition" in Beijing.
