New Measures For Wenzhou Shoe Enterprises To Deal With Anti-Dumping Trade Friction

A period of internal and external difficulties is coming to the industry which accounts for nearly 1/4 of Wenzhou's gross industrial product.

Data from Wenzhou shoe leather industry association show that last year, the cost of leather shoes in Wenzhou continued to rise by 20%, while endless anti-dumping and international trade disputes, like a big hand slowly tightening their throats.

"Almost all export shoe enterprises have been affected by anti-dumping and other trade frictions in recent years."

Wenzhou shoe leather industry association secretary general Xie Rongfang told this reporter.

According to its introduction, the recent round of anti-dumping trade disputes from the EU began 4 years ago.

At that time, the EU imposed anti-dumping duties of up to 16.5% on leather shoes in China.

The impact of this decision is that the number of leather shoes sold overseas in Wenzhou has decreased by nearly 20% per year.

No businessman will lose his profits.

The fact is that if the factory is relocated to Russia, the cost of customs duties will be reduced by at least 70%.

This view comes from Kangnai group.

It is understood that at present, Kangnai has invested in Russia to open an industrial park, specializing in the relocation of leather shoes enterprises from Wenzhou.

"Kangnai has accumulated rich experience in opening up through opening overseas stores and taking the lead in establishing the usurusk economic and trade cooperation zone."

Zheng Xiukang, chairman of Kangnai group, told our reporter.

At present, Kangnai has reached twenty million pairs of shoes per year in Russia's industrial area, becoming the first large taxpayer in Wusu Rees city.

It is understood that with the normal customs clearance, the export duty of a pair of semi finished leather shoes is only 5%, and that of finished shoes is as high as 15%. If we enter Russia with "grey customs clearance", it will take more than 3 months from Wenzhou to St Petersburg, and we may face the possibility of being forced to pull goods by tax police.

But if an enterprise assembles half finished shoes in Russia, it can play the "MADE IN RUSSIA" (made in Russia), not only can be sold safely in Russia, but also can be sold to the main markets of the EU, and there is no need to worry about such problems as "anti-dumping".

In this way, the cost of a pair of shoes sold to Russia is reduced by 70% at least.

In addition, the Wenzhou leather industry association also signed a strategic cooperation framework agreement with the Spanish leather shoes Association.

"Spain is the most anti dumping country for Chinese leather shoes in the EU Member States."

Xie Rongfang said, "the signing of this agreement represents everyone is easing the contradiction between the two sides."

The agreement was signed on the occasion of the 30th anniversary celebration of Kangnai's celebration, as well as the memorandum of cooperation between Kangnai and the Italy Footwear Association.
