Georgia On The Silk Road

Except for the Silk Museum in all parts of China, the most famous place in the world is the Lyon Silk Museum in France, followed by the Museum of silkworms in Yokohama, Japan.

Although many countries have silk museums, Georgia's Silk Museum has won many families.

With the essence of one man and the marrow of 61 nations, the Silk Museum of Georgia is built in this way.

The Silk Museum of Georgia is directly related to China.

The silkworm industry was born in Georgia before the Silk Road passed through Georgia. In the second half of the fifth Century, the history of Georgia, Saint sznick's heroic biography, describes that the sericulture industry in Georgia flourished in fifth Century.

The silkworm industry was almost extinct in Georgia in 1850s.

Russia's recovery in the South Caucasus

After studying abroad in 1887, Shaffer Rolf was appointed manager of the Caucasus sericulture station in Tbilisi. The sericultural station he developed gradually developed into today's Georgia Silk Museum.

Since nineteenth Century, exhibits from 61 countries have been collected from planting mulberry to mulberry, to silkworm eggs hatching, purifying and rejuvenating, spinning and cocoon making, then to silk weaving, printing and dyeing, and cutting and making use. Every link in the silkworm production chain has been introduced in physical, model and legend. Even the mulberry leaf's natural enemy in Georgia is also introduced.

The exhibits also include mineral and plant dyes used in printing and dyeing in Georgia, perforated Kraft card with similar early computer functions in the textile process of Georgia, and silk products such as scarves, gloves and ornaments in the final form of Georgia.

Marina Gunashvili, a shy instructors, told visitors that every year people would not forget the history of sericulture in Georgia and come to the "Silk Museum" archaeology.

A two inch message book in the museum has been signed from September to September 2010 after the independence of Georgia in 1991.
