The Hardest Part Is To Make Up Your Mind To Fight For War.

    Liu Jianya'S Entrepreneurial Psychology

Since returning to China in 1995, Liu Jianya has been very busy.

The world Chinese biologist conference recently held in Beijing, flew to the United States to discuss project cooperation.

As a CEO of Wahson bio garden in Tianjin, Dr. Liu Jianya looks gentle and gentle. But when he talks, his thoughts are sharp and responsive. It gives people a deeper feeling that this is a person who is ready to act when he is ready.

Liu Jianya's resume leaves two words: "biology". In 1984, he graduated from the Department of biology of Nankai University. He was admitted to the Institute of Microbiology of Chinese Academy of Sciences in the same year. He went to Canada's Concordia University and Mcgill University to study Ph. D. from 1986 to 1991. He joined Canadian Quebec experimental Biotechnology Co., Ltd. as director of R & D, and founded PDF Technology Co., Ltd. in 1994. He returned to Tianjin in 1995 and founded the Tianjin Bitefei Biotechnology Limited company. This is the first international biotechnology company of foreign students. In 2001, more than 20 overseas biologist have set up TEDA Wahson Biological Park in Vietnam.

At present, the biotech products Co., Ltd., which mainly produces biological products and biological nutriment, has a sales network covering all provinces, regions and municipalities throughout the country. The product brand has already had considerable influence in the field of household self-test.

At present, there are nearly 20 enterprises in Wahson Biological Park, and more than 20 items are discussed.

It is expected that more than 60 enterprises will enter the park in 2005.

"Everything is difficult at the beginning."

In any industry, starting from scratch is always the most difficult.

The difficulty of starting a business is more than the moment when the entrepreneur is determined to go back to war.

For this moment, we may have to prepare for several years.

For people who have many choices of survival and development, this moment is very difficult, and for those who are driven by the entrepreneurial spirit, this moment will not give you too much time to think.

Every entrepreneur, whether successful or not, has a story that makes people heartbeat.

Entrepreneurship is a hard journey and a lonely journey for most people. "

Liu Jianya summed up his entrepreneurial experience with passion.

Venture capitalist says, "you are a walking corpse." Liu Jianya's idea is "I do not believe this."

It is the first difficulty to set up a business plan before choosing a business goal and goal.

Next is to find the start-up capital needed for starting a business.

What is more difficult is how to plan and plan initially according to plan.

Many entrepreneurs have exhausted their resources without reaching the first goal. "

Liu Jianya summed up his entrepreneurial experience.

Bitfi was the first company co founded by Liu Jianya after he returned home.

Looking back at the beginning of the business, Liu Jianya felt that every step was very difficult.

From making plans, integrating the first capital into developing the products needed by the market, and ultimately allowing customers to accept products and ensure profitability, this process requires sufficient cash flow and human resources, and requires 24 hours of concentration among entrepreneurs.

In every process, whether new competitors appear in the market, or to replace technology and products, are enough to make every cell of the entrepreneur in a state of excitement, and every link may be sacrificed.

He said that it was this difficult entrepreneurial process that enabled him to deeply understand the ups and downs of different stages, including conceptual design, feasibility analysis, product development, marketing, personnel recruitment and team building, until the establishment of corporate culture and brand promotion. Only then did he understand the true meaning of "the beginning of all difficulties" to truly understand the hardships of entrepreneurs, and realize that no matter how well prepared, it is always impossible to achieve the planning objectives according to the original plan.

Liu Jianya remembers that around 1995, shortly after he had just embarked on the road to entrepreneurship, a venture capitalists in Canada said at a high tech venture investment recommendation that "you are a walking corpse".

    This shocked Liu Jianya.

The investor also said, "you are doomed to fail" because statistics show that the survival rate of high-tech enterprises in the 3 years of creation is only about 1%.

A successful entrepreneur beside Liu Jianya immediately said, "don't listen to them. Don't expect them to give you money. You have to rely on yourself to get through it."

Liu Jianya thought at the time, "I just don't believe this."

Looking back at the scene at that time, he said, "I am lucky enough to be alive today, and I see a beautiful dawn in front of me.

For entrepreneurs, if you believe you can succeed, you will succeed. "

Well known professors say that most of you will fail to return to Liu Jianya, but think it is an opportunity.

Why do I think of the idea of returning home to start a business and organizing a team to start a business together? Liu Jianya said that more than ten years ago, when he studied and studied abroad, he saw that so many students in China did well in every professional field. They always felt that one day they could organize a lot of people and do a lot of things for the country from the aspect of industrial development.

So in 2000, 20 biology doctors, including Liu Jianya, gathered in Tianjin from various countries and opened an International Symposium on biology, laying the foundation for the creation of Wahson biological park.

But entrepreneurship is difficult in any country, and it is more difficult to create high-tech enterprises.

Statistics show that newly established enterprises will meet 90% in 3 years.

    fail

And the hi-tech enterprises' survival rate is only about 1% to 2% in 3 years.

There was a saying that the success rate of overseas students returning to business was lower than the success rate of domestic entrepreneurs.

Liu Jianya thinks this statement is unscientific and one-sided.

He analyzed that most of the overseas scholars returned to the high-tech enterprises, and their success rate was lower than the average level of entrepreneurship. Not to mention, no one really studied and counted the proportion of the success rate of overseas entrepreneurs and domestic entrepreneurs in high-tech enterprises.

Liu Jianya's experience of studying abroad has made him feel a sense of urgency.

Because the new economy is rising in Europe and America, and there are not many opportunities left for the Chinese people. The rejuvenation of the Chinese nation will depend on whether our country can seize the opportunity of this new round of industrial revolution, that is, whether the IT industry, BT industry, environmental engineering and new materials industry can make a great difference.

After returning to China in 1995, we met with biotechnology enterprises.

    Development

    Downturn.

In 1998, a famous biology professor at an entrepreneur Research Association said: "you learn biotechnology and come back from overseas to start a business. Most of them are battered and beaten.

Liu Jianya, who was good at facing challenges, thought it was an opportunity. So he sprouted the idea of Second Entrepreneurship: creating a biotechnology professional park, creating a common platform for more people to create biotechnology enterprises, lowering the threshold of entrepreneurship, shortening the cycle of creation and development of biotechnology enterprises through providing entrepreneurial consultation and common platform and all-round services, with a view to improving the survival rate of biotechnology enterprises.

Of course, this is also an important business investment opportunity.

Liu Jianya's idea was that TEDA Wahson bio garden would become the index of China's biotechnology industry.

    But he

    Know perfectly well

Building this platform, this biotechnology professional incubator, will encounter a series of difficulties and obstacles.

Each biotech enterprise usually has to invest 230 million yuan in startup, which needs 3 to 5 years of research and development.

If it is a biopharmaceutical enterprise, this time may be longer and the investment requirement is greater.

Moreover, the threshold of biotechnology entrepreneurship is generally higher than that of the IT industry, and the threshold of talent is generally higher than that of IT industry. In general, people who are engaged in biotechnology have at least 5 to 10 years of laboratory work experience after graduation, so that they can have the ability of product development.

At this time, the age is over 35 years old.

So Liu Jianya insisted that if we want to own a biotechnology industry, we need to build a number of well-equipped biotechnology parks to protect and improve the chances of success for entrepreneurs.

This model applies to many industries.

From dream to scientist to business, China lacks entrepreneurs with high intelligence.

A "Goldbach conjecture" once allowed Liu Jianya, who was a university student, to have many illusions about science, including dreaming of becoming a scientist, but now he is actually running a business.

Liu Jianya believes that an important reason is that the field of vision is broadened.

Since 1987, Liu Jianya has been president of the student union in Canada.

After seeing many things, he started to ponder over a question: what is China lacking? His conclusion is that along with the development of economy, with the prosperity and prosperity of the country, China will not lack scientists in the future.

So he abandoned Canadian companies and went back to business.

He said he did not anticipate so many difficulties when he took the first step.

But when I break through, I feel a little bit more interested in telling people who want to start a business: don't look back and forth, if you want to have a satisfying day for your career, at least, dare to make a decision today.

Liu Jianya did not admit that he was a success. He just thought he was an early survivor of swimming in the sea. He knew that China's biotechnology industry had already been faced with the danger of being left behind.

He said that entrepreneurship is the personal distillation of entrepreneurs.

An excellent technician is not necessarily an excellent entrepreneur.

What science pursues is inventing, discovering and perfectly answering why, and what enterprises pursue is to provide customers with perfect products and satisfy customers' needs.

The most advanced invention may not turn into productivity and make the enterprise successful. Biotechnology entrepreneurs must fully realize this.

In Liu Jianya's eyes, everyone who is preparing to start a business must have two psychological preparations: the first is that you will always need money and capital.

Whether this problem can be well resolved is related to survival; the second is to have a good team.

After the establishment of Wahson Biological Park, Liu Jianya has been actively calling for the establishment of China's biotechnology industry policy, and has organized two seminars on the development of biotechnology industry and the strategy of strengthening the country with talents. It is an important topic to discuss the call for the introduction of industrial policies.

The rise of China's biotechnology industry needs the attention of the whole society.

Liu Jianya said, this requires the state to formulate appropriate industrial support policies, preferential tax policies and investment and financing policies as soon as possible, and requires the state to establish a biotechnology industry fund as a biotechnology company that attracts more and more private capital and international capital to invest in China. It needs the people to have a deeper understanding of the significance of the Biotechnology Industrial Revolution and the great impact it will have on human survival and life. It is necessary for all sectors of society and government leaders at all levels to create a more suitable environment for entrepreneurship of biotechnology enterprises, so that a group of entrepreneurs engaged in biotechnology industry will stand out.
