After testing, it was found that the content of the chlorinated organic carrier contained in the batch of goods exceeded the requirements of the European Union, and there was a certain risk of chemical safety, which led to the direct return of the products.

This is a rare case of unqualified textile chemical safety (excessive content of chlorinated organic carrier).

Fabric

Polyester fiber is used, and carrier dyeing is a common dyeing process for polyester and blended products. Many chlorinated organic carriers (such as three chlorobenzene, two chlorobenzene, etc.) are cheap and efficient dyeing carriers.

The EU 76/769/EEC directive stipulates that Member States must limit the use and sale of certain dangerous substances and preparations in the form of laws, regulations or administrative provisions. Substances that are listed in the priority control blacklist will not be allowed to be found in any final products. In this blacklist, chlorinated organic carriers are listed in them, with the limit of 1.0mg/kg.

After testing, the cushion contains chlorinated benzenes such as 1,2- two chlorobenzene, 1,2,4- three chlorobenzene, five chlorobenzene and other chlorinated organic carriers, with a total content of 1.63mg/kg, which exceeds 63% of the prescribed limit, and does not meet the standard requirements.

Export textile manufacturers are prone to overlook chemical safety hazards. There are two main reasons for this analysis: first, some textile manufacturers are not strong in risk awareness and blindly rely on them.

Raw material

The raw materials supplied by suppliers are not detected in time for the chlorinated organic carriers of the raw materials. Two, some enterprises, in order to reduce costs, make use of the characteristics of low cost and high dyeing efficiency of chlorinated organic carriers, so as to increase the price competitiveness of export commodities.

In view of the above situation, the inspection and quarantine department suggests that textile production enterprises should carefully study the relevant laws and regulations of the country; two, we must strictly control quality and safety in the selection of raw materials and product design, and reduce the risk of product export.

For small and medium-sized enterprises with relatively poor self-examination and self-control capability, they should take the initiative to contact the inspection and quarantine departments, and use social resources to help achieve the source control and ensure the quality of export products.
