The India Textile Organization Appealed To The Government To Not Expand Its Export Volume.
The South India Textile Mills Association (SIMA) has urged the Prime Minister of India to move forward in January 2012 to curb the export volume of raw cotton.
India's Ministry of Agriculture recommends that the end of the September 2011 Edition
cotton
In the year, the export volume of raw cotton increased by 1 million 500 thousand packs to 7 million bale (170 kg / pack).
Mr. J. Thulasidharan, President of the India Textile Mills Association (SIMA), wrote to India's prime minister, Manmohan Singh, finance minister, Minister of industry and Commerce and textile minister, in April 6th, urging them not to expand the quantity of cotton exports in India.
The organization said that even at the end of the cotton year, according to the current number of export restrictions,
Textile industry
It will also face a shortage of 2 million bales of cotton (170 kg / bag).
He added that SIMA has urged the government of India to restrict the export of raw cotton. Because of the limited supply of cotton and the request of the Ministry of agriculture of India to increase the export limit of cotton, the government needs to further restrict the export volume of cotton.
In the letter to Mr. Thulasidharan, Mr. Thulasidharan predicted that, starting in July this year,
cotton
There will be a shortage of stocks. At least 5 million 500 thousand packages (170 kilograms) of final inventory will be needed this year.
However, in February 25th, the India Cotton Advisory Committee predicted that the final inventory will be 2 million 750 thousand packages (170 kg) this year.
Mr Thulasidharan said that if the number of cotton exports allowed to increase, a large number of spinning factories would be closed from July to October.
He said that increasing the quantity of cotton exports would be a great disaster for the spinning industry. The yarn industry has been very sad because of the huge stock of cotton yarn and the low demand for upstream.
A cotton purchasing manager who did not want to be named said that raising the export volume this year may be a bonus. However, he felt this situation was extremely unlikely because the arrival of cotton in India has come to an end.
Growers may sell cotton picked from fifth and sixth times to market, with limited supply of cotton and the beginning of the cotton planting season in Punjab.
He said that at this juncture, increasing export volume is only a guess.
