Wu Haiyan designer wants to study fabric design.
Wu Haiyan, chief designer of Zhongfu group design company, recently talked about the designer's recognition of the fabric. He also believed that excellent fashion designers should have the quality of outstanding fabric designers. Excellent fabric designers should also have the eye of a good fashion designer.
Usually, clothing designers do not directly interfere with the design of fabric structure, but only according to the trend and the requirements of self to discuss with the structural designers, choose the design of different structure of fabric.
However, many designers are accustomed to designing their own fabric after treatment and color and pattern. Many European fashion designers are actually also masters of fabric design.
According to Wu Haiyan, there are four aspects of clothing designers' requirements for clothing materials: first, the combination of fabric and fabrics should be popular; secondly, the texture of fabrics should be new and should not be familiar with each other; third, first fabrics should have the main color groups of different series of popular colors, and provide larger choices; fourth, the coloured fabrics should have a series of patterns to suit different styles and styles of garments.
The four aspects should take into account international popularity and national popularity. Both of them should take into account the consumption trend and industry popularity, and show the designer's personality on this basis.
According to the current international and domestic fashion trends, different levels of clothing fabrics have different characteristics. These characteristics are basically formed by the positioning of different cultural tastes.
The final conclusion of the fabric should be on clothing. In China, there are usually two ways of communication between fabrics and garments: the most common one is one which has been observed for many years in China. The manufacturer of clothing materials determines and develops the varieties and styles of fabrics according to their own observation and analysis of market demand. According to the observation and analysis of fabric manufacturers, some of them are directed directly to the sales situation of the fabric market, and the most common way is to directly produce the fabrics that are sold on the market, and if there are patents or other intellectual property issues, the styles will be slightly changed.
A small number of manufacturers spent a lot of manpower and financial resources, developed a series of products, once occupied or even dominated the domestic clothing material market. However, due to the higher cost of development, the longer period of investment recovery, and the shorter fashion cycle, the development is often unsustainable. Some fabric manufacturers directly observe and analyze the fashion trend of clothing market, but this observation and analysis is generally limited to the mass production of fabrics that are in fashion, and lack of foresight.
In view of the above lessons, some shrewd fabric manufacturers began to establish cooperative relations with garment manufacturers, and only organized and developed production according to the orders of garment manufacturers. In fact, the production of military fabrics was organized in this way. This way eliminates the panic of fabric manufacturers directly facing the market, but at the same time, the problem is that the fabric factory becomes the processing workshop of garment enterprises.
Under the current market economy conditions, the first is that the profit is depressed to almost unbearable level (in fact, the overall profit of the garment factory is not high). The two is that the garment factory will be forced to cooperate with other fabric factories once it is forced by the market. Garment manufacturers are also facing a similar situation, so it is almost impossible to rely solely on the current recession of garment enterprises to change the fate of fabric manufacturers.
Wu Haiyan believes that it is the duty of designers to recognize and master the trend of fashion and fabric popularity. The mature clothing and fabric market must be a market with certain cultural characteristics, not just an economic market. The positioning of some relatively mature clothing and fabric markets in Europe and America is a very important measure. Comparatively speaking, some seemingly hierarchical markets in China lack the cultural taste to adapt to the public. The consumer behavior of Chinese consumers is becoming more mature. Blindly following the fashion trend of European and American clothing has become the past. The influence and inertia of national cultural tradition make it go towards internationalization with its own national cultural characteristics. This is the basic rule of fashion trend in China, and the design and production of clothing should also follow this trend.
