Jinan University

Known as "the highest institution of overseas Chinese".

It is China's first overseas Chinese institution founded by the state. It is currently the most overseas university in the country. It is the national "211 Project" key comprehensive university, directly under the State Council Overseas Chinese Affairs Office.

The predecessor of the school was the Ji Nan School founded by the Qing government in Nanjing in 1906.

Later moved to Shanghai, it was renamed the national Jinan University in 1927.

During the war of resistance against Japan, it moved to Jianyang, Fujian.

Moved back to Shanghai in 1946.

It was merged into Fudan University and Shanghai Transportation University in September 1949.

In 1958, it was rebuilt in Guangzhou. Now, there are four campuses in three places in Guangzhou, Shenzhen and Zhuhai. The campus covers a total area of 2615.4 mu.

The school actively implements the policy of "facing the overseas, facing Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan". Since its founding, it has trained more than 20 talents from 106 countries in five continents and 3 regions in Hongkong, Macao and Taiwan.

It was formally established in January 2005. It is the twentieth professional college established by Jinan University in the hundred years.

The academy is president of the famous film and television artist, Zhang Tielin, a connoisseur of painting and calligraphy. The existing teachers are composed of the elite in various fields at home and abroad, including music, art, film and television and new media.

Many famous experts and scholars in Chinese painting and calligraphy, music, film and animation are all visiting professors in our college.

Our institute is striving to establish a young and energetic elite teacher team to make the school of fine arts a distinctive Chinese art education research and creation base.

The Academy of fine arts now has an art department (Fine Arts Chinese painting and calligraphy appreciation direction), a new media art department (Animation Major), a film and Television Department (directing professional film and television director direction) and a music department (Musicology professional piano performance art direction, violin performance art direction, composing and computer music production direction), and a research and development and artistic creation exchange institution, such as the Chinese Calligraphy Research Institute, the university student artistic quality teaching department.

At the same time, the Academy of art focuses on and specializes digital art brand cooperation with enterprises.

In September 2007, the Faculty of the new media art department obtained the certification of professional teaching teachers of graphic software, graphic design, video and other digital software of Adobe company, and was awarded the "Adobe Digital Art Center of Jinan University art school" by the Adobe company. This is the first digital art center of Adobe company in Southern China.

In October, the awarding ceremony of the Avid authorized training center was held in the Jiayi international hotel. President Zhang Tielin established the Avid Academic Partner partnership on behalf of the Art Institute and Avid company, and established the first "Avid global certification training center in Southern China" at the Academy of art.

After obtaining the qualifications of the two global certification training centers, the school of Arts of Jinan University will enable students to carry out certification training for domestic or international users, so that students can be more competitive in the talent market, provide better technical support for teachers, and open up a new platform for their creation and service.

Integration and innovation

At present, the diversified social form requires new knowledge structure, and the traditional demarcation between different art categories and technology, science and humanities is gradually disappearing.

Comprehensive knowledge and quality structure directly affect the probability of success.

Therefore, at the beginning of the preparatory work, the Academy of art has the conception and plan of building a large platform for art discipline, namely, film director + new media animation + calligraphy and painting appreciation + music performance.

This will make full use of the advantages of comprehensive universities to solve the problem of unbalanced nutrition in the single disciplines of traditional art academy, and return the single art discipline to the natural form of art category, and seek development and breakthroughs in different artistic categories.

All the majors of the College of art will provide mutual support for art, culture, technology, teachers and equipment.

The exchange and integration of different art categories will directly bring about the emergence of new forms of art, such as new media animation, new media music, etc.

The concept of large platform embodies a comprehensive and specific educational framework.

The Academy of fine arts will create a group of versatile professionals with innovative consciousness and comprehensive artistic quality and endless potential.

International Perspective

Jinan University, as a famous overseas Chinese school, has always had extensive international communication. Integrating with the world is one of the purposes of ensuring the characteristics of our college.

The faculty is from all over the world, and has a good educational background and resources. The students come from all over the world and have different cultural backgrounds and professional expertise.

The Institute is always concerned about the international industry dynamics, facing and participating in international competition.

At the very beginning of its establishment, the Institute has established good and in-depth exchanges and cooperation with many famous international institutions and professional institutions such as Beijing Film Academy, Guangzhou Acmdemy of Fine Arts, the Canadian Institute of anime, IAMAS, Japan, Beijing International Museum of information science and University of the Arts, and the the Imperial Palace Museum.

The feasibility of a series of new teaching models, such as academic research, credit interaction, teacher exchange and so on, is being explored.

Jinan University Art Institute has also received a lot of attention and support from renowned experts and scholars at home and abroad.

The school of art has the oldest white building of Jinan University as an independent teaching office building with an area of about 3243 square meters.

The classical elegance of the building, surrounded by Mau Lin and quiet in the middle, are excellent places for artistic and creative work.

A series of professional studios, such as new painting studio, painting and calligraphy appraisal room, painting and calligraphy mounting and repair room, 2D animation studio, animation laboratory, computer animation laboratory, electronic music studio, multi-functional music training room, recording studio, movie and TV observation hall, film and television studio, have been completed.

All these teaching and research facilities and advanced equipment will maximize the release of students' endless creative thinking and greatly enhance their expressive power and international competitiveness.
