Demand And Production Capacity Of Synthetic Rubber Increased Sharply In China
According to the rubber industry association, the demand and production capacity of synthetic rubber in China in 11th Five-Year are expected to increase by more than 10% annually.
To this end, experts in the synthetic rubber industry call for the domestic rubber processing industry to increase the proportion of domestic synthetic rubber in order to ease the tension in the supply of China's natural rubber market.
In recent years, the supply and demand situation of major synthetic rubber varieties in the developed countries is oversupply, and China has become the largest rubber importer in the world due to the rapid growth of market demand.
Cao Xianghong, a member of the Chinese Academy of engineering and rubber expert, said that on the one hand, the domestic synthetic rubber varieties were unbalanced and the total amount was insufficient. The supply of Ding Ji rubber, nitrile rubber and ethylene propylene rubber mainly depended on imports. On the other hand, the proportion of synthetic rubber used in rubber products industry was very low.
According to the statistics of China Synthetic Rubber Industry Association, at present, there are 15 synthetic rubber producers in China, with a total annual capacity of 1 million 451 thousand tons.
In 2006, 1 million 460 thousand tons of synthetic rubber were produced, an increase of 9.5% over the same period, 1 million 300 thousand tons of imports and an apparent consumption of more than 2 million 880 thousand tons.
Tire industry and shoemaking industry are the largest rubber consumption areas. The total rubber consumption (excluding latex) and the tire rubber content account for 44%.
In terms of total consumption, the proportion of synthetic rubber in total rubber consumption is increasing year by year, but it is far lower than that of synthetic rubber abroad.
With the continuous improvement of environmental protection requirements, the tire will develop towards meridian, flat and tubeless.
Therefore, green environmental protection products and high performance and functional synthetic rubber varieties will be the development trend of synthetic rubber in the future.
Cao Xianghong believes that the reason why the use ratio of synthetic rubber in China is not high is that the technology strength of synthetic rubber enterprises is weak, and that independent innovation is not enough.
