UNIQLO's quality is well known, but some foreign brands frequently fall into the "quality gate".

Who is the problem with frequent quality incidents?

It is dangerous for children to cover their mouth and nose when they misuse it.

There were 62 batches of children's clothing, and the passing rate of physical quality increased by 7.7% and 31.9% respectively compared with that in 2010 and 2009. The main unqualified items were fiber content and pH value. No banned azo dyes and formaldehyde exceeded the standard. Spot checks in recent years have shown that the quality of children's clothing has improved significantly after the quality supervision of Guangzhou Quality Supervision Bureau has strengthened, but the overall quality level is still not high.

After the release of the test results, ZARA maintained a silent response and did not give any advice on the problem products. In April 21st, the Beijing Consumers Association sent a letter to the SA La Commerce (Beijing) company, which openly criticized its neglect of product quality and disregard of consumers' rights and interests. Many media reported it and aroused widespread concern from all walks of life.

In response to the criticism of Consumers Association, ZARA's Public Relations Department of INDITEX group finally issued a statement, saying that ZARA clothing meets all relevant Chinese health and safety regulations, and all chemical tests are qualified. Among them, the inspection of color fastness, the statement said that ZARA clothing "meet the highest level of clothing standards in many testing categories", only two items did not meet the highest standards, but still achieved the quality of standard products. However, the problem of false marking of the actual components of the product is explained by the statement, because acrylic and fibrous glue components are not labelled on the product label. According to our regulations, such fibers should be labeled with "other fibers". The ZARA quality control department is revising this.

However, this statement did not respond to the quality problems of the two down garments in 2009 and 2010, nor did it explain the unreal contents of wool and cotton in casual trousers. As for how to deal with the problem products, the consumers did not mention the returns and did not apologize.

According to the statement that "ZARA's clothing meets the highest level of clothing standards in many testing categories, only two items do not meet the highest standards, but still meet the standard product quality standard", Tang Xiangtao, senior engineer of the national clothing quality supervision and Inspection Center (Tianjin), said he did not recognize the same. According to Tang Xiangtao, the quality of clothing is divided into three categories: superior, first-class and qualified products. The corresponding standards of different grades are different, and the values of inspection are also different. "Indicating that it is a first grade product, it must be tested according to the standard of first grade product, and all the requirements and testing items of the first grade product can not reach the standard of qualified products, which is also an unqualified product."

Luo Gang, director of the social supervision and consumption guidance department of Beijing Consumer Association, said that ZARA must have a clear attitude. This statement did not mention the substantive issues of safeguarding consumers' rights and interests, such as what measures should be taken to solve the quality problems, what measures to rescue consumers who bought the products and so on.

The garments exported to China abroad must be examined through strict "standards" before they can be sold. However, many foreign brands entering the country conform to China's quality standards, but little attention has been paid to them.

For this ZARA "quality gate", some Spanish media have also reported accordingly. In the subtitle of "the low quality and the criticizing of the Spanish enterprise label" by the "low quality and the fake country", the ZARA thought that the problems that China began to encounter in the Chinese market may be to destroy the expansion plan of ZARA in China. The news also accuses China of being a big counterfeiting country. China is not only a result of the fact that the clothing products have been exposed all over the world due to inferior quality, but also include medicines and food.

While we are delighted with the achievements made by Chinese clothing in the domestic and foreign markets, we should also attach importance to the safety of clothing on ourselves and protect our right to know and to be safe as consumers. If the local clothing market develops well and healthfully, it will surely have a positive impact on the norms of foreign trade export and the position of China's consumer market.
