Mulberry variety Victory-1 (V1) was cultivated in Mysore by the central sericulture research and Training Institute.

The mulberry leaves of this species are large and thick, with dark green leaves and smooth, glossy leaves.

This variety has been successfully planted in 7 centers in southern India, and has good effects on leaf rust resistance.

The average leaf yield of this variety in each experimental base is 21725 kg per hectare. Due to different rainfall and irrigation conditions, there are great differences in leaf yield in different regions.

In the Krishnagiri area of the Tamil Nadu area where rainfall and irrigation conditions are good, the yield per hectare can reach 70295 kg.

The experimental results of regional sericulture research station in Andhra Pradesh show that mulberry trees of Anantha varieties have strong resistance to caterpillars, powdery bugs, mites and root rot diseases.

Under different irrigation conditions, the average yield of leaves ranged from 25770 kg to 77690 kg per hectare, while the yield of mulberry leaves was only 10700 kg or more.

Vishala belongs to fast-growing varieties. According to the different irrigation conditions, the yield of leaves ranged from 26000 kg to 80960 kg / ha.

In areas where rainfall is needed, the yield of leaves can reach more than 11200 kg if rainfall is abundant.

Field experiments were conducted in the northern part of India. The yield of mulberry leaves of the same species ranged from 5000-18700 kg.

Previously, the government has approved the planting of 12 varieties of mulberry trees for farmers. CSB officials predict that with the extension of 3 high-yielding mulberry varieties, India's silk production in a few years will be greatly improved to meet domestic silk production and reduce dependence on China's Silk raw materials.
