In China, it is almost impossible not to talk about Pan Shiyi, a SOHO company in China, talking about the real estate storm. His real estate accounts for nearly half of the sales in the CBD area of Beijing. His invariable image is constantly appearing in various forums, media and outdoor advertisements.

In September 1st, when Pan Shiyi founded SOHO China 10th anniversary, he came to reporters for a "bitter sweet", talking about the hard gold rush road before "popular".

Heroes do not ask where they come from.

Sitting in the 18 storey office of SOHO modern city, Pan Shiyi, chairman and co chairman of SOHO China, depicting the history of the Gold Rush years ago, like storytelling.

In the second half of 1991, Hainan's economy is suffering the first low tide.

Like many gold diggers, Pan Shiyi and Feng Lun have been mixed up in Haikou's street stalls and beach bathing places all day long. "When they are bored, they ride their bikes around the island for a week and return to their moustache."

For a time, a lady walked closer with them. They thought they were congenial, and they often drank and talked together.

Until one day, the lady visited Pan Feng's "Wantong company" office for a visit, and then left without saying goodbye.

Many years later, when Pan Ouran met the lady again, she did not forget to ask this question.

The lady said frankly, "the only desk on your desk is a thick layer of dust. It's really dangerous to mess with such people."

Before the establishment of Hainan Wantong, Feng Lun, Pan Shiyi and others plan to contract a small state-owned enterprise called "the earth company". The two sides agreed that Feng Pan would pay thousands of yuan management fees to the old factory director every year, and the land company would be run by Feng Pan.

After signing the contract, Feng Pan took over the seal of the earth company and was preparing to carry out the business. Only second days later, the old factory director came back by bike and had to return to the seal and tore up the contract.

It turned out that after a night of reflection, he thought of the situation of Feng Pan. The steady old factory director still felt wrong. "Not because thousands of dollars cause big trouble!"

Many years later, the old factory director went to the office of Pandanyi, which had already begun to run away. "I knew you had done it, and now the earth has become a big business!" the two sides looked at each other laughing.

Listening to Pan Shiyi's storytelling, everyone's laughter reverberated in the hundreds of square meters of office space.

In the clear water: Pan Pan and others help.

In 1963, Pan Shiyi was born in Tianshui village in Gansu. When he was a child, his father was a "right wing". His mother was ill in bed all the year round.

The first change in fate appeared in 1977. In the fall, the father turned back, and the family changed from rural household registration into urban residence and moved to Qingshui county.

Before returning to the city, Pan's family had to pull all the grain from his home to the county grain station and exchange it for the grain tickets of Gansu province. This task fell on the shoulders of Pan Shiyi, the son of the eldest son.

More than 200 kilograms of grain, a flat car, more than 20 Mile Road, after the age of "Laopan" height is only one meter and six, for the 14 year old "pan", this grain delivery road's hardship is self-evident, "two ramps can not pull up, and had to wait for help at the roadside."

Soon, Pan Shiyi pferred to the county high school, this is his first life wandering, "from the countryside to the county seat, feel that life is very promising!" Pan Shiyi believes that this is the beginning of his life.

A year later, pan received a letter of acceptance from a technical secondary school in Lanzhou, capital city.

In Lanzhou: self introduction leads to laughter.

Because of the backwardness of communication, Pan Shiyi got the letter of acceptance very late. When he stumbled to Lanzhou, he had been in school for over a month.

Standing at the front of the teaching building, Pan Shiyi, who had a luggage, did not know who to report to.

"After more than 10 hours' train, I was so tired that I fell asleep at the staircase for a while," Pan Shiyi recalls.

"You are in our class. Come with me!"

Miss Kim brought the late student to the classroom and introduced them to his classmates.

"I forgot what I said at that time. What impressed me most was that when I opened my mouth, the whole class burst into laughter."

Pan Shiyi guessed that it might be related to his accent. Until now, his northwest dialect has not changed.

"At that time, I walked around all day and never looked at the sky. After graduation, I didn't know how high the school building was. Unlike now, every place must look at his tall building."

Pan said, it was a day of reading.

Two years later, in the 600 students of the whole year, Pan Shiyi was admitted to the petroleum pipeline college in Hebei with second grades. After three years of college graduation, he was assigned to the Research Institute of petroleum reform of Langfang petroleum ministry.

In Shenzhen: spend 50 dollars on illegal immigration.

At the end of 1987, Pan Shiyi went down to Guangzhou and Shenzhen for the first time.

"From the north of the ice and snow to the beautiful Guangzhou, suddenly it feels like a paradise, especially in Shenzhen. Everyone is so happy."

After the Spring Festival, Pan Shiyi became a seller and resigned to Shenzhen. When he arrived at Nantou customs, he left more than 80 yuan, which was Pan Shiyi's "venture capital" described by many years later.

Without a border pass, the "venture capital" first spent 50 yuan on the way to the Shenzhen Special Administrative Region by stealing a hole under the barbed wire.

In reality, Shenzhen is not as beautiful and warm as it is when we are watching.

Pan Shiyi ran for three meals, and soon entered a consulting company. "In fact, it is a leather bag company, computer training, running errands for Hongkong people, reception of the manager of the mainland factory tour, and what can earn money to do!"

Because of his poor language and poor diet, Pan Shiyi's life in Shenzhen has always been very depressed.

Two years later, in 1989, the company had to set up a semicolon to Hainan, which just built the province. He thought that "pan can't miss the historical opportunity" Pan volunteered to go down to Hainan and ushered in the life stage that he thought was the most colorful.

In Hainan: the real estate has been courageous.

"When I first arrived in Hainan, the feeling was bustling.

Everything in the street is romantic, poetic and guitar. Everyone has a dream, that is, no money.

Recalling the history, Pan Shiyi's eyes sparkled.

Soon, the company received a brick factory in central Hainan, and Pan Shiyi became director of the factory.

At the peak of the factory, there were more than 400 workers. There were more than 100 people in the mountainous area.

"Thieves often patronize, the small generators that provide lighting at night are stolen three times in a month," Pan Shiyi said, like a movie story: "when people just lie down and suddenly the lights go out, it must be the generator was stolen, so they chase it hard until the thief can't lift it and abandon it and run away."

What's more troubling is the emotional problems of migrant workers. One day, director Pan was resting in his bedroom, an abandoned water tower. Suddenly, a brick broke through the window, and hundreds of wage workers gathered under the water tower.

"You can't run if you want to run, you can only talk hard with them."

Six months later, the brick factory shut down and Pan Shiyi returned to Haikou.

With the advent of the economic downturn, most of the gold diggers were withdrawn, and Pan Shiyi decided to stay and take chances.

I sleep on the beach at night and bury my clothes in the sand for fear that they will be stolen.

Watching half the Spring Festival Gala in someone's room, they were driven away.

In August 1991, Pan Shiyi joined the partnership to set up Wantong company, lending about 10000000 yuan at high interest rate. With the coming of the second wave of Hainan economy, Wantong accumulated more than ten million yuan in just half a year.

"Though I lost it later, I found myself courageous.

"In August 1992, Pan Shiyi evacuated Hainan from Hainan and went to Beijing.

In Beijing: when reporting, sweat is like beans.

Pan Shiyi, who had a chance to eat in the Huairou county government canteen, accidentally listened to the people at the side table, and Beijing gave Huairou some indicators of share holding companies that were targeted to raise funds, but no one was willing to do so.

Pan Shiyi seized the opportunity.

Soon, Beijing Wantong Industrial Limited by Share Ltd began to enter the establishment process.

While Pan Shiyi was secretly delighted, he received a phone call from the Department concerned: "you guys have made a mess of it. Several leaders of the ministries and commissions have to listen to your report together!" Pan Shiyi came to the National Reform Commission.

As soon as I entered the door, dozens of "big men" came in a row. I told them in front of me that the sweat of beans was dripping continuously on the material.

A leader reminded Pan Shiyi: "don't be too nervous, let's listen to the practice of the new policy.

"Finally, a chief executive took the" stock certificate "that he brought with him. The sample praised that the people in Beijing were doing things in a standardized way, and a stock certificate was so formal. Some enterprises in the field took the receipts instead, which was a positive recognition of Beijing Wantong.

This time, Beijing Wantong excavated hundreds of millions of dollars in profits, and Pan Shiyi began to emerge.

In April 1994, Pan Shiyi met Zhang Xin, who worked for Goldman Sachs in Wall Street, and married two people in October of that year.

In September 1995, Pan Shiyi left Wantong and his wife founded Hongshi industry, and then created the overall situation of SOHO China.
