Kang Fei Apologizes For Bohai Oil Spill Incident

PetroChina limited said in August 19th that it had apologized for the two independent oil spill incidents in Bohai and promised to take responsibility for the safety, environmental protection and clean-up work of the Bohai Bay.

The Beihai branch of the State Oceanic Administration issued a notice on the issue of oil pollution in Penglai 19-3 oil field on 9 August, which instructed ConocoPhillips to make no effort to deal with the previous submarine oil pollution disposal.

ConocoPhillips also said that about two cubic meters of oil spill (about 700 barrels) had been leaked to the sea in June, and about 400 cubic meters (about 2500 barrels) of mineral oil based mud were leaked into the sea bed and deposited in the seabed. About 115 barrels of oil spill occurred.
