Research Institutes Say Thai Household Textiles Export To ASEAN Market Is Promising.
Thailand Institute of Thai Farmers Research Center, 29, said that in the first half of this year, Thailand's export of household textiles to ASEAN countries increased by 44% over the same period last year, higher than that of the United States.

The research institute predicted that the total value of domestic textile exports in Thailand could be maintained at around us $370 million in 2011, an increase of only 1.2% over the same period last year.
The main reason is that the growth of the main export markets such as the United States, the European Union and Japan has slowed down, and the market competition is fierce. Orders for home textiles have been decreasing. Therefore, the ASEAN market is more important for the export of household textiles in Thailand.

However, the center also believes that with the rising purchasing power of ASEAN consumers, their consumption behavior is changing. The choice of commodities takes into account both quality and performance, as well as price factors.
Therefore, Thailand home textiles manufacturers should attach importance to improving the quality of products, relying on the excellent design and quality of Thailand products to meet the needs and tastes of consumers in ASEAN market, and avoid price competition with rival countries.
At the same time, industry collaboration should be strengthened, including cooperation between supply chain manufacturers in home textiles industry, and cooperation with downstream industries such as real estate, furniture, services, hotels, spas, restaurants, cinemas and so on. This is also the opportunity for Thailand home textiles to expand the ASEAN market.
