In his speech, Shen Jian said, as the birthplace of silk culture, Hangzhou has been adhering to the goal of "promoting silk culture and building women's clothing" in recent years, insisting on the silk dress industry as a key characteristic industry in Hangzhou. The ancient silk industry has been developing new vitality in Hangzhou.

At present, Hangzhou silk dress has a complete industrial chain from planting mulberry to silkworm silk, textile design, textile machinery manufacturing and so on. There are nearly 2200 women's clothing enterprises above Designated Size, employing over 300 thousand people, and the total output value in 2010 has reached 193 billion yuan, accounting for 17% of the total industrial output value of the whole city. "Silk house, women's clothing capital" has become another "gold card" of Hangzhou city.

We believe that under the strong support of the Ministry of Commerce and the relevant units, the China International Silk Fair and China International Women's wear exhibition will become an industrial event of international silk and women's clothing, and add splendor to the beautiful Hangzhou.

He said that China's silk industry has experienced many problems, such as fluctuations in raw silk prices, increased environmental pressure and sluggish consumer demand, and the industry is facing difficulties.

Therefore, the Ministry of Commerce has put forward the work idea of "adjusting structure, creating brand and expanding domestic demand", vigorously promoting scientific and technological innovation and industrial upgrading, guiding enterprises to "go out", encouraging enterprises to create brand, supporting the construction of silk marketing network, strengthening macro regulation and control, and ensuring the steady development of the silk industry.

This Silk Fair has received extensive attention and active participation from the domestic and foreign silk industry. Businessmen from the United States, Europe, Japan, Korea and India and domestic silk and garment enterprises gathered in the beautiful West Lake to carry out exchanges and cooperation, adding color and vitality to the exhibition, giving the exhibition a unique charm.

At the opening ceremony, Pei Xiaoying read the notice on Approving the protection of Hangzhou silk and other products for the implementation of geographical indications, and officially issued the "Hangzhou silk" geographical indication and gave the card.

The exhibition has a total area of 26000 square meters, with more than 200 exhibitors, including four major items such as silk, women's clothing, design and concept. The exhibition takes "vitality, creativity and charm" as the theme, and sets up a professional platform for silk and women's clothing industry at home and abroad through exhibition, publishing, trade and seminars, covering three aspects of silk product display, women's clothing product display and popular publishing.

In addition, the Hangzhou fashion week will also be held during the Expo, including the seventh China International Women's costume designer Grand Prix finals and Awards Gala. "Silk house charm" Hangzhou women dress show, "Paradise silk Wu Lin Yi Xiu" and nearly 20 fashion shows held by designers and fashion institutions in Canada, Britain, Korea, Japan and Taiwan.
