"Otis has started a cheap line in the past two years, because the production of cheap elevators can make small profits but quick turnover, but its problems are slowly emerging."

Multiple accidents are caused by bolts.

After the accident on the Beijing subway, the Beijing Quality Supervision Bureau said in July 6th that it was initially identified that the failure of the escalator was directly due to the damage of the fixed parts, the displacement of the escalator driven main engine, the driving chain falling off, and the escalator sliding down.

The next day, the Beijing municipal government information office reported that the escalator accident of Beijing subway was similar to the escalator accident in Shenzhen subway last December. The escalators in the two accidents were all 513MPE escalators of OTIS.

Last year, on the Shenzhen Metro Line 1 China World Trade Center station, a ascending Otis escalator also turned retrograde, resulting in 25 injuries.

The cause of the accident is also the loosening of the fixed support bolt of the escalator driven main engine, and the breakage of the 1 bolts causes the shift of the host bearing, causing the driving chain to detach from the sprocket and slide up the escalator.

It can be seen that all two accidents are related to spare parts.

But which supplier does the Otis Elevator bolt come from, though some netizens are constantly exposed to it, there is no definite conclusion yet.

"Daily economic news" reporter contacted the former Otis Elevator screw supplier of Germany's wal company's former staff Huayang (a pseudonym).

Huayang revealed that after May this year, Otis did not get the goods from wood, but the specific reason is not very clear, it may be to find cheaper, cost-effective source.

"The quality of elevator has a lot to do with parts and components.

The quality of domestic listed parts and components is also good, the level is high intensity level, many regular enterprises and large enterprises use these.

However, many parts of small domestic enterprises fail to reach 12.9 levels, and they are also circulated on the market, where parts are broken, and accidents are easy.

The quality of bolts has also attracted the attention of Peng Jinsheng, chairman of the Beijing elevator business association's expert committee.

After the Beijing subway accident, he told the media that the strength of the bolts should be re calculated, the strength is not enough, the tightness is not good, and the vibration of the motor will easily cause the bolts to loose and break.

If the strength of the bolt is no problem, the quality of the bolt may be defective if it is recalculated, and the inferior bolts should be purchased on the escalator.

The procurement department was accused of not being strict.

Recently, the "daily economic news" reporter called the Otis Elevator (China) Co., Ltd. Public Affairs Manager Li Mingjie, asked the supply of bolts, but she did not disclose, only said that the final investigation results of the Beijing subway accident will be released by the Beijing Quality Supervision Bureau. "We have been in coordination with the investigation, the last announcement of the elevator accident caused by bolts is only preliminary investigation results, and the Quality Supervision Bureau and Otis are still investigating, the date of the investigation is not known."

Li Mingjie also said that there are two kinds of spare parts used by Otis elevators, which are factory production and outsourcing.

Generally speaking, the key components of the elevator are purchased by the manufacturer and purchased from other parts.

As for whether the bolt of the elevator is supplied by Li Mingjie, it is not known.

Jiang Ming, a miniature screw manufacturer, said, "although bolts are supplied by suppliers, what does manufacturers buy back?" companies such as Otis should have tensile tests, torque tests and hardness salt spray tests.

If the manufacturer checks out the problem, he should return it immediately. Why should he buy the elevator accessories and continue to produce the elevator? So Otis is having problems in the procurement process.

Supplier: cheap route to cause trouble

Liu Li, a supplier of the Otis Elevator Co in Guangzhou (a pseudonym), was distressed by Otis's committing such a mistake.

The material of the square tube is divided into many grades, reducing the two grades, and the material and intensity will drop.

Otis used to buy and manufacture extra trusses of the truss itself, which is now owned by Otis itself, and now the supplier purchases it, and the scrap is counted by the supplier himself.

Liu Li also said that the requirements and standards of domestic elevators and foreign elevators are different, such as the difference between accessory materials.

At the same time, "many elevators in China are customers who choose cheap products or blame them on OTIS."

"Our supplier sales department is the largest Otis procurement department.

The purchasing department will give us the blueprints. What new products are Otis's drawings and techniques? Let's finish it.

Otis generally does not have a rebate. The risk of this rebate will be very large. Otis has its own constraints, and the investigation department, the buyer is two years to replace, will not let you and suppliers long time to contact.

Parts procurement is tricky.

For the procurement department and suppliers before the tricky, Liu Li also feel the same.

Liu Li disclosed that a buyer who had worked in an elevator company for 8 years bought two suites in one place, including a house worth 3 million yuan.

However, the procurement department is not everyone has money, because not every part of the elevator has a lot of profits, such as fasteners (screws, nuts, and so on). Those who buy these fasteners may not have much profit, but the accessories such as truss and main drive are very profitable. There are thousands of parts in an elevator, and the procurement department has more than a dozen people to manage these suppliers. A person with more than ten suppliers will give gifts at festivals. For example, the Mid Autumn Festival, each supplier will give the purchaser ten thousand yuan, and more than ten tens of thousands of dollars, which is still an ordinary "market" in the industry.

"Competition among suppliers is also very large. There will always be a supplier who wants to lower prices and force other suppliers to follow up."
