China'S Shoes Produce An Annual Output Of Over 10 Billion Pairs, Accounting For 68% Of The World'S Total Output.

The reporter learned from the first international footwear industry forum, which was just concluded in Dongguan, Guangdong province. In 2006, the annual output of China's shoemaking enterprises exceeded 10 billion pairs, accounting for 68% of the world's total annual output.

According to Zhang Huarong, chairman of the footwear association of Asia, last year, more than 14 billion 800 million pairs of finished shoes were manufactured worldwide, while shoe manufacturers in Asia produced 13 billion 500 million pairs, most of them from mainland China.

The shoe manufacturing expert said that at present, Chinese shoemaking enterprises, like many Chinese manufacturing enterprises, are faced with the pformation from "made in China" to "created in China".

To get rid of external dependence, to develop independently and create world brand is the only way for the sustainable development of China's footwear industry.
