    Fiber Reuse

Dongli, Japan, has formulated a strategic plan to expand the fiber recycling business.

We will carry out the reutilization cause in the global environment from the perspective of environmental protection and economy.

Dongli plans to increase its business sales in 2013 from 2010 yen in 7 billion 500 million to 11 billion yen, and then increase sales to more than 19 billion yen by 2020.

It is reported that Dongli will promote the "regeneration" and "recycling cycle" of these two aspects of business.

"Regenerative" refers to the production of leftover bits and pieces of plastic bottles in the manufacturing process as raw materials for the production and sale of fibers.

"Recycling and recycling" means recycling and reusing waste products.

Dongli will regenerate and recycle the Ecouse and Cyclead brands respectively.

Ecouse includes chemical reuse and material reuse.

Chemical reuse takes polyester long fiber as the center and changes the composition of waste resources through chemical reaction.

The reuse of materials refers to polyester short fibers, which are used as raw materials to facilitate the utilization of waste resources.

Cyclead means making full use of the recycling system to reuse nylon products and promoting the reuse of polyester products.

In addition, Dongli will also carry out life cycle assessment (LCA) for the main products of fiber recycling business, that is, to assess the environmental impact from resource exploitation to material manufacturing, product manufacturing, use and abandonment on the environment, and quantify the effectiveness of reducing environmental burden.

It is estimated that if the annual production of 1000 tons of recycled polyester thread in Dongli is used in uniform production, it will reduce 2500 tons of carbon dioxide emissions, equivalent to 180 thousand carbon dioxide absorbed annually by cedar trees.

Sweden Advocates EU'S Ban On Imports Of NPE Textiles

A few days ago, Sweden issued a notice to the European Chemicals authority that it would compile a document on nonylphenol polyoxyethylene ether (NPE). The document will be drafted by the Swedish chemical administration to list the EU's rationale for prohibiting the import of NPE textiles, and is due to be submitted to the European Chemicals authority before August 2012. Sweden's initiative will eventually lead to a total ban on the sale of textiles containing NPE from the EU.
