Africa's Textile And Garment Shoe Leather Industry Has Declined Significantly.
Southern Africa clothing The SACTWU held its national executive committee meeting in Cape Town on 10-12 November 2011.

This report shows that the decline in employment in clothing, textiles, footwear and leather industry has obviously slowed down. According to the report and information from the Union's unemployment database, unemployment in the CTFL industry dropped by more than 50% over the first 9 months of this year, down 64% from 2009.
The slowdown in unemployment is mainly due to the support of the government in the form of 100 billion support measures in clothing, textiles, footwear and leather industry, which has increased the competitiveness of the factory. The southern African clothing and textile workers union striving to increase demand for local products and ensure the full implementation of the industrial development strategy.
