The Shoe Industry In Putian Is Developing Rapidly, Adding Hundreds Of Production Lines Every Year.

The shoe production line introduced by Guo Xiusong, a Taiwanese investment company in Putian, has been put into production tenth days ago.

In recent years, the footwear industry in Putian has developed rapidly, adding more than 100 production lines each year.

Shoemaking industry is the largest industry in Putian's industrial economy. At present, there are more than 3000 manufacturers of shoes, producing all kinds of sports shoes, leather shoes, casual shoes and rubber shoes. Among them, there are more than 180 enterprises on the top scale. In 2006, the total output value of footwear industry in the city was nearly 14 billion yuan, and 80% exported, with the development rate of more than 100 new production lines per year.

Since the beginning of this year, Putian's export shoe manufacturers have eliminated more adverse factors such as RMB appreciation, international technical barriers and raw and auxiliary material prices with more stringent quality standards. At present, foreign exchange earnings from footwear exports have reached 1 billion US dollars, up by more than 12% over the same period last year.
