Macao Shoes And Clothing Orders Optimistic Three Problems Plaguing Export Enterprises

The latest survey by Macao Economic Bureau shows that "high price of raw materials," "foreign price competition" and "shortage of personnel" are still the main problems that currently plague export enterprises.

The Macao Economic Bureau announced today's survey of industrial exports in the third quarter of last year.

The survey shows that the monthly average of orders for the enterprises surveyed is three point one months, slightly lower than that of the previous quarter, but increased by 15% over the same period last year.

Orders for footwear and garment manufacturing exceeded average.

Most enterprises are optimistic or cautiously optimistic about the future six export situations.

In the export market, the US and EU markets perform better, followed by Canada.

Other European countries, Middle East countries, Latin American countries, Australian and African countries and other export markets continued to perform poorly, and orders were not satisfactory.

In terms of labor demand, respondents said that employment decreased by three point four percent and eleven point eight percent respectively compared with the previous quarter and the same period last year.

Among them, more than 60% of export enterprises indicated lack of personnel, most of them were garment manufacturing industry.

The survey shows that since the second half of last year, "foreign price competition", "high raw material prices" and "shortage of personnel" are the main problems faced by Macao's export enterprises, followed by "high wages" and "insufficient orders".
