The women's children's Museum and the The China Academy of Art jointly hosted the "Chinese fashion charm, Chinese Centennial Qipao Exhibition" and the Chinese women's wear academic forum at the Beijing Museum of Chinese women and children.

The exhibition shows more than 120 cheongsam and old photos, advertisements and daily necessities related to cheongsam.

The cheongsam exhibited for nearly a century. It has cheongsam in the early 20s of the Republic of China and modern cheongsam designed by contemporary designers.

Culture

The product of combination is considered the most representative of Chinese women's clothing.

Hundreds of cheongsam shows the inheritance of cheongsam culture and Chinese clothing culture from many aspects, such as cultural background, style changes, characteristics of the times, fabrics, crafts, patterns, styles and so on.

It is understood that the exhibits were donated and helped by famous Hongkong people, Chinese Americans and famous performing artists.

Zhang Zhifeng, Guo Pei, Wu Haiyan, Liang Zi and Qi Gang, the famous contemporary fashion designers, have specially designed, donated and borrowed some new cheongsam for the exhibition.

Li Dangqi, a professor at Academy of Fine Arts, Zhao Feng, curator of the China Silk Museum, Yang Yuan, deputy director of the Museum of Chinese women and children, Xu Jiang, President of The China Academy of Art, attended the opening ceremony and participated in the academic forum of Chinese women's wear.
