At present, more than 30 countries and regions such as the European Union have formulated relevant standards, and 25 azo dyes are clearly prohibited.

However, in her view, the trade background of this standard has another layer of meaning. Experts expect that this standard will be officially announced in the middle of the year.

"This year, Japan, South Korea and other major export countries and regions in China's clothing industry demand rebounded. However, for small and medium-sized enterprises with poor risk tolerance, standardized barriers will directly impact their survival status," said Yu Xin, a textile expert of Yantai inspection and Quarantine Bureau.

At present, excluding the 120 enterprises that have been adjusted by the legal check list, the small and medium-sized enterprises in garment export enterprises within 79 catalogues of Yantai port area, with less than 1000 employees and less than US $2 million in annual export volume, are still weak in their business autonomy and product R & D capability. They still rely mainly on sticker processing, with lower product grades and difficulty in making profits, mostly maintaining low profit level.

In recent two years, the fluctuation of RMB exchange rate and the rise of cotton prices have become a stumbling block for the revival of the export of local textile and garment industry.
