The latest statistics from Harbin Customs show that in the 1-8 month of this year, Heilongjiang's trade volume with Russia reached 2 billion 230 million dollars, an increase of 44.09% over the same period last year, accounting for 53.67% of the total foreign trade import and export volume of the province.

Among them, exports of US $1 billion 150 million, an increase of 74.29% over the same period, and imports of US $1 billion 80 million, an increase of 21.83% over the same period last year.

Clothing, textiles, plastic products and mechanical and electrical products have occupied a considerable proportion in export commodities.

The traditional border ports, such as Suifenhe, Dongning and Heihe, are no longer just the trading channels of barter, but the processing trade is replacing the original trade mode to become a new development trend nowadays.

The Jixin group of Dongning port invested 2 million 790 thousand US dollars, and built a shoe factory with an area of 60 thousand square meters in Russia's Wusu Rees city. It has 1 million pairs of leather shoes and 5 million pairs of tourist shoes, mainly exported to the coastal areas of Russia, Moscow and Eastern Europe, with an annual sales income of about 10000000 dollars.

The responsible person of the Heilongjiang provincial chamber of Commerce said that some developed provinces along the eastern coast of China are making joint efforts to carry out economic and trade cooperation with Russia on the basis of Heilongjiang's geographical advantages, public relations and market network advantages.

Since 2003, a large number of large enterprises such as Heilongjiang Zhongji group, China Aluminum Group, Zhuhai Zhen Rong and Zhejiang Xinzhou group have jointly developed and planned over a dozen major projects, such as 600 thousand tons of pulp mill in Chita, Mu Xin forest farm in Khabarovsk, Chita in the Chita, Zhuhai, Chita, etc.

Heilongjiang, which has the second largest port group in the country, has a series of preferential policies that the State supports and encourages exports. It is estimated that the trade volume between China and Russia has increased by 25% annually since 1999.

On the basis of $20 billion this year, if the market grows at a rate of 20% per year, the trade volume will reach US $60 billion by 2010. If we increase by 25% every year, we will be able to reach US $80 billion by 2010.

According to the analysis of the industry, the rapid growth of China's total economic volume, especially the recent recognition of the complete market economy status between the leaders of the two countries and China's support for Russia's accession to the WTO will have a positive and far-reaching impact on consolidating Sino Russian economic and trade relations.
