Stephen Combes, chairman of the European textile machinery manufacturers Committee
Helping Asian markets acquire the latest technology
The European Commission of textile machinery manufacturers (CEMATEX) includes 9 European textile machinery associations, which occupy a leading position in the world's textile machinery industry. Most of them will export textile products to China.
We are pleased to find that the high quality and high technology of European textile machinery is recognized by buyers in China and buyers in other parts of the world.
According to data released by China Customs, the five largest textile producing countries and regions exported to China in 2011 were Japan, Germany, Italy, Switzerland and China Taiwan, of which three were Europe. Spin Member states of the machinery manufacturers Committee.
Recently, our member German Textile Machinery Association (VDMA) pointed out that in the 2011 year, they exported China for the first time to exceed 1 billion euros, reaching 1 billion 200 million euros, but this figure accounted for only 20% of the total imports of China's textile machinery. In addition, the Italy Textile Machinery Association (ACIMIT) exports to China accounts for 25% of their total exports.
The European Textile Machinery Association produces a wide range of textile machinery, such as knitted, spinning, loom, nonwoven equipment and finishing equipment. These categories are the most demanding equipment of Chinese buyers.
China is the largest buyer and seller of textile machinery in the world. Therefore, many well-known European textile machinery manufacturers have been targeting the Chinese market, and have already set up factories or chose to cooperate in production and investment to achieve cost saving advantages. In the future, member enterprises will continue to localize production in some key markets. For example, the Swiss Textile Machinery Association Lida Group is expanding its operation in China. Recent reports indicate that they will double the number of workers in China in the next two years to 1800 employees. In addition, many German companies have set up production lines in China.
To survive in a competitive environment, textile enterprises need to invest in innovative and sustainable solutions. One of the key goals is to develop high technology to make business and production more energy efficient and flexible.
textile machinery market It is very huge and the market classification is perfect. The demand of buyers from all over the world is becoming more and more diversified. When evaluating investment in machinery and equipment, they often want to get investment returns through low cost production.
Chinese textile machinery manufacturers, like other textile machinery manufacturers in other regions, have made great progress in technological development. Members of the European textile machinery manufacturers committee also hope to create great value for textile producers through product and technological innovation. This can be seen from their participation in the ITMA exhibition and the continuous display of new products to the global audience.
At the ITMA Barcelona exhibition in 2011, a large number of member enterprises exhibited their latest textile machinery and equipment, highlighting their leadership in technological innovation.
Today, with the integration of the world economy, the demand of buyers from all over the world has no boundaries. Buyers from all countries are generally concerned about productivity improvement, cost saving and quality of service. Members of the European textile machinery manufacturers committee will continue to seek ways to develop value and value added products for customers. This is the fine tradition we are proud of and our winning strategy.
Our member enterprises have always regarded Asia as an important market. The birth of China International Textile Machinery Exhibition and ITMA Asia exhibition is a witness to our importance to the Asian market.
The focus of today's industry is environmental pollution and the conservation of raw materials and labor costs. The increase in demand for environmentally friendly textiles will help to promote the demand for environmentally friendly textile machinery.
Consumers, workers and policy makers regard sustainable production processes as necessary. Therefore, textile machinery buyers have no choice but to develop green production technologies. Many of our member associations are working on relevant projects and making efforts for the development of environmental protection technology.
The latest green environmental protection equipment displayed by the members of the European textile machinery manufacturers at the ITMA2011 exhibition will also be displayed at the 2012 China International Textile Machinery Exhibition and ITMA Asian exhibition. We hope to receive good feedback from visitors at the exhibition.
Since the ITMA Asia exhibition was moved to Shanghai in 2008, the exhibition has developed into the preferred exhibition platform for buyers and sellers in China and even in Asia.
The first two China International Textile Machinery Exhibition and ITMA Asia Exhibition We have strong support, which confirms the prominence of the exhibition and further confirms that we decided to jointly run exhibitions in China at the outset, which is a correct and reasonable decision.
The enthusiasm of exhibitors at this exhibition proves that there is always a demand for cost-effective solutions. The ITMA Asia exhibition is the most prestigious textile machinery exhibition in Asia, providing convenience for textile manufacturers in the Asian market to acquire the latest textile machinery technology.
Chairman of the French Textile Machinery Manufacturers Association Bruno Ameline and Secretary General Evelyne Cholet
Focus on developing niche market
Last year, the total sales volume of French textile machinery manufacturers exceeded US $1 billion 300 million, of which more than 95% were exported and about 350 million US dollars were exported to China.
In recent years, in the long fiber spinning industry, we have developed new technologies, significantly improving quality standards, operation and maintenance costs, and online quality control. The scope of innovation covers the design of the whole production line. We provide customers with the opportunity to use traditional process equipment to achieve high-tech spinning, such as glass fiber and tire cord. The progress of stereotyping gives the yarn many new functions, especially in the carpet industry. The development of jacquard knitting equipment and dobby makes the production process more high-speed, high quality and more reliable. We are developing rapidly in the field of nonwovens, such as health care products (diapers, wet napkins), geotextiles, filter fabrics, etc. the French textile machinery manufacturers are in the forefront of innovation in this field.
In addition, the recycling of textile materials wastes has become a new product of environmental protection. It is also a topic currently discussed by French machinery manufacturers.
Our member enterprises occupy the global dominant position in some specialized markets, but they do not compete in the mass market such as cotton spinning, but rather focus on the niche market. They are small and medium-sized enterprises or even family run enterprises, not large consortia, so they can not achieve diversified production or realize localized production in China. However, many of our enterprises have permanent offices in China, and some of them have subsidiaries in China.
We believe that the cost of equipment is important, but it is far more important than the price of equipment to create new markets for our customers, to provide innovative equipment, reliable services and energy-efficient machinery.
In the actual production process, we will design equipment according to the needs of customers, through French experts and engineers to visit the form of inspection, so that we maintain a very close relationship with our customers.
Of course, we will also participate in the textile machinery exhibition. Among them, China International Textile Machinery Exhibition and ITMA Asia exhibition is one of the most important exhibitions. The exhibition has brought us closer to our Chinese customers, so that we have to think that they design suitable equipment, deliver orders quickly and provide them with excellent services. Although we have no production line in China, we have a positive attitude towards the Chinese market.
We believe that the core productivity of the global textile industry will continue to shift to Asia. In apparel, home textiles and industrial textiles production equipment market, we have strong advantages, and strive to meet the special needs of Chinese customers, to provide them with suitable solutions.
This is particularly important for high-tech textiles. We need a real partnership when we design and produce the know-how and technology of emerging textiles. Therefore, we hire engineers with different backgrounds. They have good interpersonal skills and can really understand the needs of customers and make plans.
Here, I want to mention the outstanding French scientist JACQUARD, who invented the most complicated weaving process -- jacquard technology. French machinery manufacturers occupy a very important position in the development of textile industry, and will continue to maintain it, because this is our craft tradition.
In short, the French machinery manufacturers will provide the best, the most reliable, the most productive and the most energy efficient products in the new and old applications in this exhibition. The following are the representative technologies that will be provided by several French spinning machinery enterprises.
NSC fibre to Yarn will show a new stretch cutting technology. Laroche will propose a new concept of flame retardant structure of regenerated cellulose fiber. The Swiss Swisstex company France branch will provide a new glass yarn processing scheme. Aesa will provide a comprehensive solution to the problem of air conditioning. SUPERBA will display a proprietary weed control scheme. Fil Control will show new yarn knives and sensors. Dollfus Dollfus will exhibit a new hot pressing technology. Gao Tao Bill will first display its 3060 electronic rotary dobby in China.
The French textile machinery manufacturers association is the owner of the ITMA brand, a member of the European textile machinery manufacturers Committee. Therefore, we have been actively participating in the ITMA series of exhibitions in Europe and Asia. We believe that even if more exhibitions are held around the world, it is necessary to participate in ITMA double exhibitions in Europe and Asia.
Thomas Waldmann, executive director of textile machinery branch of German Federation of machinery and equipment manufacturers
Promoting the concept of "blue energy efficiency"
In 2011, the total number of textile machinery exported from Germany to China was 1 billion 170 million euros, up 23.5% from the same period last year. This is the first time in history that China has exported more than 1 billion euros. The classification of export products is as follows: spinning equipment exports 418 million euros, loom export 43 million euros, knitting equipment exports 572 million euros, finishing machinery export 134 million euros.
German textile machinery enterprises are the largest foreign textile machinery manufacturers in China with independent production lines. Therefore, compared with other competitors' initiatives in the Chinese market, we are in the leading position in localization manufacturing. But localized manufacturing is just one of many business strategies to China. Some Chinese customers still need equipment manufactured in Germany. For those customers, sales offices in China or sales through exclusive agents are enough, without localized manufacturing. In short, our business strategy will always depend on the needs and expectations of our customers.
Chinese textile machinery manufacturers are highly competitive in the field of textile machinery with high output. But for textile producers who want to enter the high-end market, they usually choose German machines. High quality and excellent technology ensure that German equipment is less shut down, the yield of defective products is minimized and the resulting material cost is lower. Of course, energy efficiency is also an important factor in German machine preference, especially in the context of energy price fluctuations. In addition, when textile manufacturers purchase German machines, if they have problems, they can rely on their high quality spare parts supply and technicians' technical maintenance. Therefore, combining these factors, German machine's return on investment and business opportunities are considerable.
Asia, especially the Chinese market, has become the core market of global textile machinery. Textile manufacturers in the Asian market pay more attention to energy efficiency, which is the same as before. For example, China's "12th Five-Year plan" has set ambitious goals for energy conservation and raw materials saving in industry, including the textile industry. In India, the government also introduced policies to strengthen industrial energy conservation. In addition to the policy, adapting to the fluctuation of energy and commodity prices and meeting the needs of end-users for ecological textiles, it also poses challenges to every textile producer. VDMA textile machinery and Equipment Association's member enterprises have been well prepared to provide solutions for these problems.
VDMA put forward the concept of "blue energy efficiency" in the whole machinery industry. Based on the demand for energy and raw materials development in today's and future society, "blue energy efficiency" will represent those mechanical manufacturers who can provide such technical solutions. We will introduce the concept of "blue energy efficiency" to textile manufacturers in detail at the 2012 China International Textile Machinery Exhibition and ITMA Asia Exhibition.
Over the years, the production of textile machinery equipment for sustainability and energy conservation has been the core of the German textile machinery industry, and is also an important guarantee for economic production. During the exhibition, VDMA will distribute the Chinese guide on "energy saving textile machinery and equipment", and introduce the decisive factors for evaluating and comparing the energy saving indicators of textile machinery, such as energy efficiency guidelines and carbon footprint, so as to make the "sustainability" more objective and quantifiable.
We will continue to focus on the upgrading and upgrading of the entire textile machinery industry chain.
2012 China International Textile Machinery Exhibition and ITMA Asia exhibition is the most attractive platform in the Asian market. Since we witnessed the development of the joint exhibition in 2008, our member enterprises look forward to the success of the exhibition in Shanghai in June this year. {page_break}
Federico Pellegata, Secretary General of Italy Textile Machinery Manufacturers Association
Upgrading the market share in the Far East
In 2011, Italy textile machinery exports to China amounted to 450 million euros. The types of export spinning machines are divided in detail as follows: 36% for spinning machinery, 27% for equipment accessories, 21% for knitting machinery, 9% for finishing equipment, 5% for looms, 2% for other models.
Taking into account our further forecast of the global de regionalization process, some textile machinery manufacturers in Italy have shifted some of their production to major Asian regions (China and India) to achieve localized manufacturing.
We have seen great progress in technology in China's local textile machinery enterprises, and their competitiveness has also improved. However, we always have confidence in the reliability and quality of Italy textile machinery. In the next few years, the equipment superiority of our member enterprises will remain.
Over the years, our member enterprises have been leading the market in some textile machinery market, and have made some success in some fields. Now, in order to consolidate their position in the Far East market, they will achieve successful cooperation among member enterprises to ensure that customers can provide a wider and more complete supply of equipment category.
It may be difficult to list all the new textile machinery technologies exhibited at the 2012 China International Textile Machinery Exhibition and ITMA Asia Exhibition. But our member companies are committed to finding solutions to the problems facing the global textile machinery. The textile industry is changing the production mode of production process, technology and machinery to achieve energy conservation and environmental pollution. 2012 China International Textile Machinery Exhibition and ITMA Asia exhibition will have a number of Italy textile machinery manufacturers put forward proposals and proposals for sustainable development mode, with the purpose of providing efficient and scientific solutions to end customers.
For most member enterprises, the Chinese market occupies a leading position in all overseas markets. Therefore, many textile machinery manufacturers in Italy believe that China International Textile Machinery Exhibition and ITMA Asia exhibition are of great significance for the development of business in China. Here, we hope that all exhibitors will achieve great results at the 2012 China International Textile Machinery Exhibition and ITMA Asia Exhibition.
Asa Hansson, Secretary General of the Swedish Textile Machinery Federation
Create solutions for customers
We believe that the future Asian market, especially the Chinese market, will become the core market of textile machinery. With the eastward shift of the textile industry, the world textile machinery manufacturers are accelerating their entry into the Chinese market.
In developing the Asian market, although every member enterprise has their own expansion strategy in business operation, most enterprises agree that the resources and energy expenditure in Asia is of great significance for their future business development. We have already had some member enterprises active in the Chinese market for a long time, but so far, I have not heard that Swedish enterprises have specific plans for localization in China, but there are indeed some enterprises interested in developing sales activities in China in the future.
In recent years, China's textile machinery enterprises have made great progress in technology. Compared with some overseas products, China's textile machinery products have certain cost performance advantages.
However, I believe that the competitiveness of Swedish textile enterprises is derived from creating solutions for customers rather than providing cheap products. In the process of providing system solutions to customers, Swedish enterprises can provide support for these enterprises to run cost advantages throughout high-quality and efficient production processes. The core concept of Swedish enterprise development is to improve production efficiency, reduce inefficient time, optimize logistics solutions and achieve environmentally friendly production processes.
The China International Textile Machinery Exhibition and ITMA Asia exhibition, jointly organized by the European textile machinery manufacturers Committee and China Textile Machinery Association, have been successfully held for two sessions. We hope that the 2012 China International Textile Machinery Exhibition and ITMA Asia exhibition will achieve a high level of service and smooth operation, so that exhibitors can focus on the most important part of the exhibition - spectators! We look forward to presenting a high quality Textile Expo with the audience from all over the world.
Lukas Sigrist, secretary-general of Swiss Textile Machinery Association
Transforming innovative ideas into products
2011 is a challenging year for the Swiss textile machinery industry. On the whole, Swiss exports increased by 12% to 1 billion 476 million Swiss francs annually. Orders in the first quarter of last year were more than usual, which exceeded the production capacity of many companies. In the next two quarters, the industry had to face a sharp drop in the number of new orders. Last September, the industry witnessed a dynamic ITMA exhibition in Barcelona, which renewed the hope of the industry's recovery. In the fourth quarter of last year, with the increase of new orders, the business situation of the industry has been improved.
In 2011, Switzerland exported about 16% of its textile machinery to China. Although this data is not encouraging at first glance, it is well known that the vast majority of Swiss enterprises have established operation institutions in China. We speculate that their total market share is very impressive. The sales report from a line also confirmed this sustained growth.
As I have said, the vast majority of Swiss textile machinery dealers have established sales and service centers or complete production bases in China in the past ten years. More enterprises are moving eastward, aiming to be more close to the market, and there are also some economic pressure factors. I still believe that the center of the textile industry (production or retail) will be in Asia for at least the next ten years. But I also believe that our production base in Switzerland will continue to play an important role in maintaining technological and R & D advantages in the future.
We perceive that China's textile machinery technology is developing rapidly, and competition with other competitors is also intensifying. But as I said just now, I believe that Swiss enterprises will continue to play their role. The shortage of raw materials and the limitations of small domestic markets made them learn to create wealth with their own hands. The obvious advantage of the Swiss textile industry lies in its persistence and conviction in R & D, but this does not guarantee success. The decisive key is to transform the idea of innovation into the ability to meet the needs of the market, which requires entrepreneurial ambitions and courage to take risks.
I believe that the center of the textile industry will be in Asia for at least ten years, and so will the textile machinery market. Switzerland is a small country. It is unrealistic for Swiss enterprises to produce or sell large quantities of products in the motherland. The strategy adopted by the Swiss textile machinery enterprises is to set up FACTOR+ to collectively promote the textile machinery enterprises in Switzerland. It symbolizes the common pursuit of real added value by the Swiss textile machinery enterprises, namely, "outstanding technology + sustainability, high performance products + reliable services, innovation + environment compatibility, operability and effectiveness circular solutions". We will continue to pursue a common goal, that is, customer satisfaction and success.
China International Textile Machinery Exhibition and ITMA Asia exhibition not only enhance the quality of the exhibition, but also become the most important textile machinery exhibition in Asia. This makes the exhibition more attractive, both exhibitors and visitors can not miss it.
If you want to know what new technologies and solutions have been introduced by Swiss textile machinery manufacturers, please visit the exhibition. Innovative, practical and top notch products and services will be the theme of this Swiss textile machinery company.
Alan Little, President of the British Textile Machinery Association
Upgrading Asian market share
In 2011, the export volume of British textile machinery to the Chinese market was US $17 million (excluding Hongkong, China), an increase of about 4% over 2010.
Asia (not specifically China) is the core market for the development of textile machinery industry, but in the future, other high-speed developing regions in the world will become the core market of the global textile machinery, which is inevitable. Although our member enterprises regard China as an important market, there are still some other markets which are relatively even more important.
Our member enterprises will ensure continuous follow-up in the Asian market, but not at the expense of other textile machinery markets in the world. Some of our member enterprises have already made localization in China, and some member enterprises are more cautious. Before we finally decide, we will actively explore other feasible ways.
The competition between China's local textile machinery manufacturers and our member enterprises seems to exist only in textile manufacturers who provide products for the local market. Textile manufacturers, if they need to export products to some multinational groups or more advanced textile markets, usually choose higher quality mechanical equipment made by European manufacturers. At this point, we have no competition with Chinese local textile machinery manufacturers.
After the last China International Textile Machinery Exhibition and ITMA Asia exhibition, our member enterprises made many progress in textile machinery technology. These technologies are exhibited in the ITMA 2011 exhibition held in Barcelona. The successful exhibition has created a lot of benefits for our member enterprises and brought about real market demand and orders. I expect these textile machinery technologies to show our progress and innovation at the 2012 China International Textile Machinery Exhibition and ITMA Asia Exhibition.
The Chinese market has always been an important market for our member enterprises. Our member enterprises will make full use of China International Textile Machinery Exhibition and ITMA Asia exhibition, which is the most profitable and profitable textile machinery professional exhibition in China to increase sales in the Asian market. It is hoped that our member enterprises will not only enhance their market share in the Chinese market, but also in other Asian markets.
Takanari Ishibashi, executive director of Japan Fiber Machinery Association
The first step in localization production
In 2011, Japanese textile machinery exported to China totaled 1 billion 460 million US dollars, up 20% over the same period last year. Of these, 40.8% were weaving machines, 25.6% looms, 11% equipment accessories, 9.9% knitted equipment, 8.6% spinning equipment, 2.2% dyeing and finishing equipment.
Overall, as China is the largest and most significant market for Japanese textile machinery manufacturers, the future Japanese textile machinery manufacturers will enhance localization manufacturing and follow-up services in China. Needless to say, our efforts in textile machinery products are designed to meet the needs of the Chinese market. In addition, follow-up services should be further enhanced to ensure excellent technical support for customers.
In fact, the performance and quality of China's textile machinery products have made considerable progress in some fields. However, we believe that in some major product areas, Japanese textile machinery products still have the advantage and competitiveness compared with China's textile machinery products, so Chinese customers choose to buy Japanese textile machinery products. In order to maintain the existing advantages, we will make unremitting efforts to improve technology.
In order to make Asia the supply base of the global textile market, we have to provide a wider range of products, from standard products to high-end products to ensure supply. This means that the market for textile machinery is much more demanding for multifunctional, diversified textile products and easy to operate equipment. Therefore, in order to meet the needs of the market, we should use the existing experience and technology application to speed up the development of intelligent mechanical equipment.
Because Japan has a long history in the field of textile machinery engineering and market, the outstanding advantage of Japanese textile machinery industry is that it can make a quick and accurate response to the technical challenges or new market demands. At the 2012 China International Textile Machinery Exhibition and ITMA Asia exhibition, we will publicize the function and performance of textile machinery for market demand.
We hope that the success of the exhibition and the importance of the exhibition will speed up the introduction of sophisticated technology and the speed of adoption in the Asian market and contribute to the long-term development of the Asian textile industry.
