Recently, during the first China (Beijing) International Trade Fair of services held in Beijing National Convention Center, China Exhibition Economy Research Association and the National Exhibition Industry Standardization Technology Committee jointly organized the information exhibition of China's exhibition industry.

According to the report, the total number of national exhibitions has reached 7333 in 2011, ranking second in the world. The number of international conferences in Beijing has ranked the top ten in the world and second in Asia.
According to the blue book data, there are more than 269 exhibition venues in China in 2011, involving 34 provinces, municipalities and Hong Kong and Macao.
The exhibition hall has a total exhibition area of over 10 million square meters, with an indoor exhibition area of over 7 million square meters.
Chen Xianjin, global president of the International Exhibition Industry Association (UFI), thinks that China is already a world exhibition power, but it is not yet a strong exhibition country. China needs to move from the exhibition power to the exhibition power. 2012-2013.

Chen emphasized that China has become a major exhibition country with a main performance of "more than 3", that is, China has many exhibition venues, many exhibition grounds and a large number of exhibitions.
Data show that from 2006 to 2011, China's exhibition space grew by 48%, while the United States and Germany increased by 5% and 2% respectively.
In addition, the number and area of exhibition venues in China also accounted for 57% and 69% of Asia's total, ranking first in Asia.
According to the latest data of the International Exhibition Industry Association, the United States is the largest indoor exhibition area in the world, accounting for 21% of the global total. China followed closely, accounting for 15% of the world's total, while Germany ranked third, with 10% of the total exhibition space.
But judging from the scale and attractiveness of the exhibition, Germany is far ahead.
Of the top 100 exhibitions in the world, 58 are held in Germany, while only 14 in China.
It should be pointed out that many of China's top 100 exhibitions are jointly organized with international organizations, and there are not many local brands.
According to statistics, by the end of 2011, China's total exhibition area of more than 5000 square meters has reached 4 million 750 thousand square meters, accounting for 15% of the world's total.
Last year, China's Convention and exhibition industry continued to grow rapidly, holding more than 6800 exhibitions of 5000 square meters or more, an increase of 2.5 times compared with the same period last year.
At the same time, the concentration of exhibition industry has also been significantly enhanced.
Focus on Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou three places
In 2011, there were 1380 exhibitions in the three first tier cities in Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou, an increase of 33.8% over the same period last year, occupying 20% of the total number of exhibitions.
Of the 14 hundred exhibitions in China, 11 were held in Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou.
According to the data released in the report, the Yangtze River Delta is the most prosperous region of China's Convention and exhibition industry. In the number of exhibition and exhibition area, the Yangtze River Delta region ranks first in the country.
Among them, Jiangsu held 799 exhibitions last year, ranking first in the country, and the number of exhibitions in Shanghai and Zhejiang was over 500.

There is a lack of innovative business ideas and operation modes, such as the awareness of exhibition data management, the application of new media, new technologies, diversification, and multi-channel management mode.
In addition, foreign exhibition enterprises are active in China, which has greatly improved the professionalization level and audience satisfaction of domestic exhibitions, but has also reduced the development space of local exhibition companies to a certain extent.

Urgent need for rational planning
Yuan Zaiqing, President of the China Exhibition and Economy Research Association, suggested that China's exhibition industry should make efforts from four aspects: first, scientific planning, avoiding duplication of low level construction; two, rational layout, including horizontal layout and vertical exhibition specifications; three, structural adjustment, including the proportion of government led and market operated exhibitions, the proportion of comprehensive and professional exhibitions, etc. four, accurate positioning, clear positioning of different regions, levels, and cultural characteristics, so as to achieve better exhibition results.
In terms of industrial concentration, China's exhibition industry is mainly in the Yangtze River Delta, the Pearl River Delta and the Bohai rim.
From the urban perspective, Shanghai, Beijing and Guangzhou are the top three, and Shanghai, Beijing, Guangdong, Zhejiang and Jiangsu rank the top five in the provincial administrative divisions.
This shows that the concentration ratio of China's exhibition industry is positively related to the leading level of manufacturing industry and the level of economic development.

Compared with the global Convention and exhibition industry, lack of China's brand exhibition is the biggest weakness of the current exhibition industry.
