From August 1, GB18401-2010 National Technical Code for Basic Safety of Textile Products was implemented. Among them, the new standard requires people under 3 years old Infant clothing To reach the highest safety level, i.e. Class A standard, otherwise production and sales are prohibited. In addition, the new national standard also has stricter regulations on formaldehyde, carcinogenic aromatic amine, amino azobenzene and other toxic and harmful substances.

The basic safety technical requirements for textiles can be divided into Class A, B and C safety levels according to the degree of index requirements. According to the new regulations, infants' textiles must be subject to Class A. In the new standard, the age definition of "infants" will be expanded from 0 to 36 months from the original 0-24 months, and the applicable height will be expanded from 80 cm and below to 100 cm and below. This means that the children's textile products under the age of 3 and under 100cm on the market can no longer be sold as Class B or C products.

The simplest way for ordinary citizens to identify clothes is to observe clothing labels. According to the regulations, clothing that meets the standards must include labels, and indicate the product implementation standards, the safety technology category of the product implementation, etc., that is, the labels must have words such as "infant products, Class A, GB18401 2010".

However, not all businesses are aware of the requirements for Class A products, and even some sales channels still have many Class B or below products. In a clothing store near Daxin Xinduhui, the reporter explicitly told the clerk to buy clothes for infants and young children aged one and a half, but what he recommended to the reporter was clothes of Class B or Class C standards, and there was no sign on it for infants and young children.

The reporter also visited several children's clothing stores located in Fengyuan Commercial Street and Minzu Road. Children's clothing, including some well-known brands, also failed to comply with this new regulation. Many businesses have explained that the products produced previously have not been sold out and it is impossible not to sell them, so the products produced according to this new national standard need a process to go on the market.

In addition, there are still many infant clothes on the market without labels, descriptions or formal tags.
