According to the "China's leather industry characteristics of regional honorary title specification", combined with the development status of Wenling, China Leather Association proposed that under the guidance of the Wenling municipal government, jointly build "China's shoe industry famous city", and on March 2008 5-6, composed of the expert group to assess the contents of the construction.

The head of the examination team is Xu Yong, vice chairman of the China Light Industry Federation and honorary chairman of the China Leather Association. The expert group listened to Qiu Shiming, a member of the Standing Committee of the Wenling Municipal Committee and vice mayor of Wenling, about the introduction of the development of footwear industry in Wenling. She visited the famous local enterprises such as po lett Shoes Co., Ltd., Zhejiang Province, Rongshi group, and so on, and visited the site of the waste recycling treatment in the village of longlong village, Dashi Town, Wenling, and discussed the contents of the co construction.

2, the development of footwear industry in Wenling embodies the spirit of the 17th CPC National Congress. The energy conservation, emission reduction and four in one recycling system of shoe making industry has become the highlight of industrial upgrading.

3, the footwear industry in Wenling has cultivated a number of independent brands in the reform and development, and has played a leading role in the local shoemaking enterprises.

4, while expanding the international market, the footwear industry in Wenling is increasing its efforts to develop the domestic market, actively adjusting the industrial structure, promoting industrial upgrading, cultivating talents through multiple channels, and taking the road of modern enterprise development.

5, the contents of the co construction are relatively detailed and accurate, with strong operability and clear objectives.

The assessment group suggested that Wenling shoemaking enterprises should take the brand as the leader, constantly improve their capability of independent innovation, further readjust the industrial structure and product mix, expand the development of the domestic market, focus on developing new markets for export markets, push the brand, enterprises and capital out of the products, and continuously improve the new results of energy conservation, consumption reduction and emission reduction, and achieve the goal of co construction by 2010.

On March 26th, at the mobilization meeting of the Wenling municipal government's "pioneering service year" and "innovation promotion year", Xu Yong, the vice chairman of the China Light Industry Federation and honorary director of the China Leather Association, awarded the plaque of "China's shoe industry" to Wenling, and delivered a speech. Xu Yong said: "the sign indicates that the footwear industry in Wenling has entered a new stage of optimization and upgrading.

As one of the important production bases of China's footwear industry, Wenling has formed a pillar industry with complete industrial chain, outstanding characteristics and prominent reputation both at home and abroad, and stimulating the development of local economy.

In order to further implement the Scientific Outlook on Development and promote the sound and rapid development of shoe-making industry, the Wenling municipal government has led the China Leather Association to build the "energy saving and emission reduction industrial upgrading shoe industry base" China footwear city Wenling. This is a major move to pform the footwear industry's development mode, an important achievement in implementing the famous brand strategy, and a rare regional brand name card.
