The reporter learned from the Wenzhou customs that after experiencing fluctuations in the first three months of this year, the export volume of our city rebounded strongly, with an export volume of US $965 million, an increase of 25.11% over the same period last year, an increase of 47.1% compared with the previous month in April.

According to statistics, in April, our city exported to 167 countries and regions. The European Union, the United States, Russia and ASEAN ranked the top 4 in the export market of our city.

Among them, exports to the EU amounted to 255 million US dollars, an increase of 26.51%; exports to the United States amounted to US $94 million 160 thousand, an increase of 19.62%; exports to Russia amounted to US $55 million 560 thousand, an increase of 92.46%; exports to ASEAN were US $77 million 410 thousand, an increase of 62.9%.

It can be seen that the market development effect of Wenzhou enterprises is obvious. The EU, Russia and ASEAN markets with high growth rate have effectively compensated the US market affected by the subprime crisis.

Customs officials pointed out that the recovery of foreign trade benefited from the strong export growth of traditional dominant commodities, and the main export commodities maintained a two digit growth rate, of which the recovery of footwear and lighter exports was particularly evident.

In April, footwear exports amounted to US $178 million, an increase of 111.25% over the same period last year, and the export of lighters was US $10 million 240 thousand, an increase of 46.45% over the same period last year.
