Effect Of Fenton Reagent Method On Anti Felting Of Wool Fabrics

In contrast, Fenton protease treated wool fiber had the most obvious scaling effect, and the fiber surface was smooth and coated on the surface of the fiber.
This is because Fenton reagent plays a role in the pretreatment of wool scale in the process of wool scale oxidation, which causes cracks and embrittlement in wool scales. It makes H2O2 easier to react with scales.
The main component of wool scale is keratin, which contains a large amount of cystine. Cystine has a large amount of sulfur, forming many two sulfur bonds between protein macromolecules, which makes the outer layer of the scales highly chemically inert, which is also the key to scaling the scales.
Therefore, scaling is the main way to destroy the two sulfur bond by a certain means, and then further degrade protein macromolecules, eventually leading to scaling.
Fenton reagent reaction process is as follows: OH has a strong oxidation capacity, can make difficult to oxidize organic matter degradation [8]. can be deduced that. OH can react with the two sulfur bond in the wool scale, and generate R-SOH containing sulfonic group structure. After opening the two sulfur bond, OH reacts with the protein macromolecule, cuts off its molecular chain, pforms it into small molecule dissolved in water, gradually destroys the scale layer, and achieves the purpose of preventing shrinkage.
Effect of processing conditions on felting of wool fabrics.
The effect of different treatment conditions on the felting shrinkage of woollen fabrics is shown in figure 2.. From Figure 2, it can be seen that the shrinkage rate of the felt is 6#<5#<3#<4#<2#<1#. in sequence, compared with the untreated 1# sample, the anti felting properties of the other treated samples have been improved, and the Fenton protease treatment method has the best effect. The felting shrinkage of the woolen fabrics after finishing is only 2. 7%, which is 0. 2%. lower than that of 5#.
Fenton reagent has strong oxidizing property to the wool scale and is easy to strip off scales.
Anti felting of wool fabrics
It has good results.
Fenton protease treatment had the best effect, probably because the protease was easier to enter the scales and further removed the scales after being treated by Fenton reagent.
However, the shrinkage of the felt treated by H2O2 alone is large, because the oxidation degradation of wool fiber is limited. Under general conditions, it can only be oxidized slightly.
