    Antistatic finishing

    Quaternary ammonium cation and its hygroscopicity in cationic waterborne polyurethane have significant antistatic effect and have better water resistance than carboxyl polyurethane.

    Zhu Jianping and Zhou Xiangdong, however, have prepared durable antistatic agents by the reaction of blocked Aliphatic Waterborne Polyurethane and active hydrogen groups in cationic surfactants.

    At the same time, its strong permeability and low usage, together with the inherent wear resistance of polyurethane, make this kind of antistatic agent have broad prospects for development.

    It is suitable for antistatic finishing of polyester, nylon and acrylic fabrics.

    Through coating finishing, fabrics can be given water repellent, antifouling, wind protection, warmth retention, flame retardant, shading and radiation protection. The fabric has high resilience and soft and full style, or fabric has natural leather appearance and pleasing luster.

    Compared with other finishing materials, polyurethane has many advantages such as strong molecular structure, good handle, strong adhesion, high toughness, fatigue resistance, wear resistance, cold resistance and excellent environmental protection. It has achieved commercial success [35].


    Finishing of functional coatings.

    A new waterproof and moisture permeable garment fabric with soft handle and excellent drapability can be obtained through the polyurethane pfer coating.

    At present, the waterproof and moisture permeable fabrics produced in China are mainly polyurethane coated or laminated fabrics made of polyester filament plain fabric, and have a large market in Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Fujian and Guangdong provinces.

    Despite the active development in China, the PU permeable coating materials still come from the United Kingdom, the United States, Belgium, South Korea and Taiwan, China.


    In addition, nanomaterials can be well dispersed in waterborne polyurethane without agglomeration, and their original properties will not be affected.

    Therefore, the emergence of waterborne polyurethane greatly promotes the development of nano functional materials.
