Interview With Italy Designer Giuliano
In 2 years, in order to find market sense,
Giuliano
A series of participation and trial operation made him basically find his way.
At that time, the international top 400 years of history.
clothing
Giuliano, AccademiaNazionale, who graduated from the College of Shanghai, has won a number of top awards for young costume design (gold scissors Award (male / female)). He was seen by the Italy organizers in World Expo, Shanghai. After the national selection contest, she was sent to China to take part in Shanghai World Expo, just after the Pudong airport. She was accustomed to the peaceful and peaceful living environment in Europe. He was instantly shocked by the bustling and huge flow of people here. In the short half an hour's journey from the airport to the hotel via Nanpu bridge, he made up his mind at that time: I want to carry out my own business here.
This romantic and enthusiastic young designer in Italy has emanated a rare aura and steadfast charm, which has quickly gathered a group of like-minded partners around him. At present, they are working together to set up an advanced clothing custom working room in Shanghai, China.
In the past 2 years, in order to find a sense of market, Giuliano has done what he has caught. A series of participation and trial operation have basically found a way for him. "It will soon come out!" he is as excited as a child.
The reporter met him at the Shandong fair in Ji'nan in 2012. He displayed two hand-made 3D4 costumes in the exhibition booth of the European exhibition area, one embroidered with the word "Baggio" on behalf of Italy, one embroidered with Confucius and two costumes beautifully put together, showing a sense of humor in dialogue.
Reporters and his dialogue also start here:
Q: This design is very creative, and you can understand your understanding of China in a humorous way.
So why do you choose such a way of expression?
Giuliano: every time I introduce myself to a Chinese friend
Italy
Chinese friends will call out the name of Baggio, the famous Italy star, which makes me feel that "Baggio" has become a cultural exchange symbol in Italy. "Confucius" is undoubtedly a symbol of Shandong, and a symbol of Chinese culture. This design is also in line with the theme of the exhibition.
I try to talk with China through my work and Confucius.
Q: what attracts you to China?
Giuliano: I was shocked by him.
I think this is like the feeling of Rome 200 years ago. People from all over the world gathered in Rome. Rome is the most symbolic place in their minds.
The rapid development and vitality of China make me feel the magic here. Especially after 20 years of economic reform in China, the people have entered an era of pursuit of quality of life. The middle class slowly grows up, and they gradually develop their understanding and feelings about life, and they are also willing to express themselves through clothing, food and various social activities. They can be said to be the leaders of fashion life, and this is the best chance for European designers to create, and it is also my ideal entrepreneurial soil.
Q: Why did you choose to start a business in China? Do you know how difficult it is?
Giuliano: I think this is the best opportunity.
China already has a group of young middle class with vision. They are not accustomed to frugality and introvertion like the previous generation. The new group is more open and more accustomed to express their pursuit and understanding of elegant life.
My main hand made custom tailored suit is aimed at this group, which is a very interesting adventure.
Q: how do you get started in China?
Giuliano: when I first came to China, I was chosen to participate in World Expo, Shanghai. At the beginning, I had 10 days to show the exquisite handwork of Italy fashion in Italy Pavilion. I worked very hard, and even did better than I did at home because I felt I had to show the best side of Italy handicrafts through my work.
Later on, I caught what I did, including receptionists, design consultants, fashion buyers, and even selling red wine in World Expo, but no matter what I did, I understood what I was doing. I kept on understanding the market, understanding customers and various channels, and at the same time, I was slowly advancing and preparing my advanced customization studio.
I have already received some orders, and customers are accumulating day by day.
I watched my ideals go all the way to reality. It's not easy.
This feeling is something I haven't seen in Italy.
In Italy, I live in the middle of a group of old designers. They are always talking about family life. The life there is super stable. Everyone is very calm and enjoying the present. Young people will feel inadequate. They will need more risks and challenges, so I will choose to take root in China.
Q: what do you think you can bring to Chinese people? Do you think they can accept you?
Giuliano: actually, Chinese people are very receptive to foreigners. For example, in Italy, foreigners do not feel special about coming and going. But in China, foreigners will receive many preferential treatment, because Chinese still take an appreciative view of foreigners, hoping to bring some fresh things to them. Chinese people have maintained a curiosity and believe in you, and are more willing to accept Italy design.
This is very rare.
Italy's advanced customization is very mature. It is also the top level in the world. Italians' attitude towards fashion life has penetrated into everyday life. They will be more picky, sometimes even picky about picky, to show that they are very good at it. (laughter) in China, customers will trust you more, admire and enjoy your work, and be more interesting.
In terms of design and production, Italians are accustomed to family work and customary humanized management.
In China, advanced customization has just started, and people are not fully used to live it. But the younger generation already has their own taste to pursue, so the development potential is very great.
It can be said that designers in Italy have more opportunities to develop in China.
I think I am a cultural background in Italy, and I am a young Italy designer. I can bring the things that inherit the essence of Italy's design culture into the real Italy fashion design style and bring them into the daily life of Chinese people.
My motto is "I am a designer, and I am your tailor."
Q: specifically, what is Italian style?
Giuliano: the so-called Italian style, I think comfort, quality and advanced.
This is a way of life, which is different from that in the era of machine production.
In the era of machine production, everything can be standardized, streamlined and low valued, which means giving up individual pursuit and fresh details. People often neglect the valuable natural self behind the rapid growth of economic development.
Custom clothing is a life invention created by heart. It can help the new generation of young people express their understanding and taste of their way of life through the unique perspective of designers, so that they can feel themselves and be closer to themselves. Young people will have more choices to express themselves.
The so-called style, I think he is pointofview, is a personal perspective, each designer has their own perspective and the perception of the world, the expression will be different, this will form their own style.
Q: why do you emphasize manual customization?
Giuliano: now many young designers are no longer tailors. They can't make handwork, do not know stitches and wiring. They think they are ordinary workers' work.
When I was in school, I was the only designer who could make clothes for myself.
In the laboratory, manual customization is greater than machine production, because there will be many personalized understanding and production in it. Italy emphasizes the machine learning from manual, but at present, China is manual to machine learning, this grasp is completely different.
I think I am from a tailor's country, but the best tailor or designer should not be a skilled craftsman, but also an inventor of life. Through his needlework and tailoring, his works express the classic and elegant life, which is wonderful and enjoyable.
Q: when will your studio come out?
Giuliano: I hope the sooner the better, but it must bring the best things to the Chinese, not rush to open for business.
