According to statistics, the total number of exhibitions held in 1997 was 1063, 1262 in 1998 and 1326 in 1999.
About 48% of international exhibitions and 52% of domestic exhibitions.
Chinese exhibitions are mainly distributed in coastal and economically developed areas such as Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Dalian, Chengdu and Shenzhen.
According to statistics, there are 496 international exhibitions in 97 years. Among them, four cities in Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Dalian account for 67% of the total; 598 in 98 national exhibitions, four of which are 58%.
For international exhibitions, professional exhibitions account for more than 95%.
According to incomplete statistics from relevant parties, there are 17 major textile and apparel exhibitions in China.

For example, there were 15 international exhibitions held in 1985, 20 in 1990, 39 in 1995, 46 in 1999, and 55 in 2000.
The exhibition area is 80 thousand square meters in 1985, 141 thousand square meters in 1990, 359 thousand square meters in 1995, and 520 thousand square meters in 1999.
Taking some successful international exhibitions as an example, the proportion of Chinese exhibitors has increased from 20% in the late 80s and early 90s to about 50% now.
At present, international and domestic exhibition fees are gradually closing, and the price double track system will be phased out within a few years.
After the early 80s, China's clothing exhibition industry entered the regular stage in 1987.
After 20 years of domestic and foreign competition in China, a number of professional exhibitions have become larger and bigger, gradually forming a world famous exhibition, such as the top four international trade exhibitions in Beijing, such as machine exhibition, spinning show, metallurgical casting exhibition and printing exhibition, which are close to international standards in exhibition scale, service level and so on. It has been listed in the global industry exhibition plan, participating in the competition in the global industry and the clothing festival in Dalian and Ningbo gradually to a new brand.
The Federation of international fairs is an important institution in the international exhibition industry, allowing the exhibition of its logo to show the quality of the exhibition.
The Federation of international fairs has a training mission. It was co organized by the China Council for the promotion of trade with the International Federation of fairs. In 1987 and 1997, UFI training courses were held in Beijing and Shanghai respectively to introduce the knowledge of international fashion exhibitions and the operation and management of international fashion exhibitions.
The more than 20 provinces and cities in China participated in the two activities.
The UF members of China take part in the annual UFI meeting every year, introduce the situation of China's exhibition, understand the development trend of international fashion exhibition, and promote the Chinese clothing exhibition industry.
