Lining Foundation Donate Bright Train
In China's remote areas, the railway line sometimes stops at such a train, which carries a rainbow on its body. Passengers are children, old people and farmers suffering from eye diseases along the railway poor areas.
The staff of the car from all over the country, they are the elite of today's Chinese eye circles, with a smile, hard work to cure the poor cataract patients where they are.
These loving angels come with the train and leave with light and hope.
The train with beautiful rainbow and love and light is "China Health Express", a mobile charity train hospital.
In May 9, 2008, the China Economic Weekly reporter had the honor to go to Nanyang, Henan to visit health care workers and patients who had been there for nearly two months with the Chinese charity express volunteer visiting group.
According to the staff of the China Charity express foundation, there are currently 3 trains in China to treat poor cataract patients in all parts of the country. Each train takes 3 months as a cycle to cure cataract patients around the area of stay. Every station can make 1200 poor patients recover.
The train hospital is supported by social funds, and the cost of treatment is 2 million 700 thousand yuan per station.
The cost of the NanYang Railway Station in Henan was donated by Mr. Lining's personal charitable foundation. Lining also donated an ophthalmic microsurgery training center to help train local ophthalmologists.
Through the introduction of staff, the reporter learned that, at present, China's ophthalmic medical strength is still relatively weak, cataracts caused by blindness has reached 5 million, and an annual increase of 500 thousand patients.
At present, the annual number of patients who can be treated by the national ophthalmic medical strength is only about 500 thousand people, that is to say, the 5 million cardinal number of cataract patients are basically not treated in time.
Among the 5 million patients, the proportion of patients with poverty and geographical conditions accounted for a considerable proportion.
China Health Express is a train hospital for the treatment of eye diseases in poor areas of remote areas.
For the funding of the China Health Express, Lining said: "the Health Express has helped nearly 80 thousand poor patients recover from illness in 10 years, and 80 thousand poor people are 80 thousand poor families. Through the health express, at least the lives of the 80 thousand patients will be greatly changed. Similarly, the recovery of the patients will greatly reduce the burden on the families of the patients and their quality of life will be greatly improved.
80 thousand eyes involve 80 thousand families, and the 80 thousand families will bring many fringe benefits to the society. "
Lining's sense of humility and peace in conversation, plain words did not change too much but he had a strong sense of responsibility.
In the whole process of visiting the train hospital, the reporter was always touched by the medical volunteers on the train, and there were endless touching stories on every column of the health express.
They have worked for 9 months in narrow carriages, and at the same time face enormous work intensity.
An ophthalmologist from Beijing told reporters that they often operate on the train at 7 a.m. to second o'clock in the morning at 3~4 a.m., and 76 operations at the longest day, and 3 times a day in hospitals.
Faced with such a heavy workload, the most important thing they say is their pride and happiness in taking part in the health express.
In order to participate in the delay of the health express, chief physician Dr. Wei told reporters: "as a doctor, many patients can not get timely treatment because of poverty, it is heartache, and through their work to enable patients to see the light again, more sure their career."
Gu Xiaohua, a 21 year old head nurse, could not believe that the girl who still had an innocent smile on her face took care of 60 patients every day if she hadn't looked at her skilled work.
"Looking at a group of patients coming and going, sometimes I feel very sour. Whenever I hold those grandparents out of the ward, I can't bear it."
"Sometimes I feel tired and homesick, but I miss my grandmother. But when I think of the patient's vision regain 0.8 or 0.9, I feel very calm and proud of my life experience, because I can help others see the light again."
Everyone in the visit was moved, and volunteers volunteering to join the health express team.
A volunteer said, "once I felt that public welfare was far away from me, but today I see so many people who need our help, there are such good doctors. I think you do not need much wealth to do public welfare, so long as you have a love to do your part."
