PEAK's "Dumb Eating Coptis" Focuses On Sponsoring Olympic Volunteers
After the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing, Iraq's sponsor, PEAK group, was "slightly hurt".
In response to this sponsorship incident, Xu Jingnan, chairman of PEAK group, told reporters yesterday that although things were abrupt and caused millions of losses, it did not affect PEAK's Olympic Plan. "Our core is sponsoring 40 thousand volunteers."
More than 100 million of the sponsorship fee has gone to the soup, Xu Jing Nan described his mood on the phone last night, "dumb eating Coptis chinensis".
Yesterday, the International Olympic Committee issued a statement saying that because of the decision of the Iraqi government to dissolve its national Olympic Committee, Iraq will be disqualified from participating in the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games.
"Actually, I received this information earlier than that."
Xu Jingnan disclosed that in May this year, when the Iraqi government announced the dissolution of the original Iraqi Olympic Committee on the grounds that its staff was not long enough quorum, the group was psychologically prepared.
The "big guy" of the famous Chinese sports brand is related to Iraq because last August 10th, because of the "match" of PEAK's agents in the Middle East, PEAK group announced the sponsorship of the Iraqi delegation to fight for the Beijing Olympic Games.
According to the agreement at that time, the Iraqi Olympic athletes will be all dressed in the PEAK "battle suit" to compete for the Beijing Olympic Games. PEAK will provide all the sports equipment for the Olympic delegation and the full cost of participating in the Beijing Olympic Games.
"The specific number is not easy to say now, but there must have been millions of losses, and last year it has arrived."
Xu Jingnan admitted that although the group's economic losses were not great, the sponsorship fee was basically wasted. "When signing the contract, we did not expect this.
But always feel the credibility of the other side of the problem, before the big competition, suddenly broke this problem.
According to people familiar with the matter, the sponsorship fee is about 200 thousand dollars.
Instead of betting on Olympic volunteers, "in fact, we do not expect this team to have much selling point in the arena. After all, the number is small and the gold medal hopes are not high."
Xu Jingnan admitted that there were two main points at the time: one was the opening ceremony, and the two was PEAK's overseas sales plan. "PEAK's products have entered Iraq".
Xu Jingnan said that the 7 Iraqi athletes who had been disqualified from the competition were still likely to come to the Beijing Olympic Games with the help of International Olympic Committee. "If they can make their way, they will not wear PEAK clothes."
"However, apart from sponsoring the Cyprus delegation, our most important weight is sponsoring 40 thousand Olympic volunteers."
Xu Jingnan revealed that at present, 40 thousand sets of clothing for Olympic volunteers have arrived in Beijing, and the Olympic plan is being carried out carefully.
In fact, similar to PEAK's sponsorship of Iraq's Olympic marketing "battlefield", PEAK is not a minority in Jinjiang.
Previously, "Hongxing Erke" has announced the sponsorship of the North Korean delegation and the Chinese women's weightlifting team, "Anta" sponsorship of Lithuania, "Lu You" sponsorship of Tajikistan, "XTEP" sponsorship of Belarus and so on.

Related industry analysis, this is the main reason why many sports brands have followed suit, and the Iraqi incident is just an accident. It is not a bad thing for PEAK group.
