Analysis Of The Development And Orientation Of China'S Textile And Garment Industry
How to build a harmonious, sustainable and healthy development of textile and garment supply chain is of great significance to the future development of the textile industry.
At present, the world is facing the problem of inflation, and industries in various countries are facing great challenges in this form.
Under such circumstances, we need to analyze the causes, analyze the problems and find ways for future development.
(1) the current situation and problems of China's textile industry, and the challenges facing China's textile industry need to jump out of the scope of industrial production.
First, we analyze the current situation of the world and China's textile and garment industry through the following data (Fig. 1).
In 2007, China accounted for 4% of the world's GDP; China's industrial exports accounted for 5.9% of the world's total; China's total population accounted for 20% of the world; 200 years the world's per capita fiber consumption was 10.9kg, China was 14.6kg, higher than the world average of 34%.
China has a huge and rapidly developing market for textiles and clothing, which has become the main source of power for industrial development.
In 2007, the total fiber consumption in the world was about 78 million 400 thousand T.
The textile processing capacity of China's textile industry is 35 million 300 thousand T, accounting for 45% of global fiber consumption.
Since 2002, fiber processing volume has increased by 15% in China (Fig. 2).
There is no doubt that China is the most important manufacturing center in the world textile and apparel supply chain.
In terms of investment, according to statistics from ITMF (World Federation of textile manufacturers), in 2007, China's textile industry invested 6 million 60 thousand new ingot spinning equipment, accounting for 47% of the world's total; 292 thousand head rotor spinning accounted for 51% of the world's total; 46 thousand and 200 shuttleless looms accounted for 68% of the world's total; 18 thousand knitting machines accounted for 68% of the world's total.
China is still the focus of investment in the world's textile industry.
In terms of market share, China occupied 22.3% of the international textile export market in 2006 and 30.6% of the garment export market.
In terms of product prices, according to us customs statistics, in 2007, the average price of imports of Chinese textiles in the United States was 1.51 US dollars /m2, which was 83% of the average price of 1.81 dollars /m2 imported from all over the world.
It can be seen that the added value and grade of China's textile and garment export products still have room for improvement.
In terms of value creation, in 2007, the output value of textile and clothing in the United States was 99 billion dollars, the number of employed persons was 550 thousand, the output per capita was 180 thousand dollars, the total output value of textile enterprises above China's scale was 419 billion, the number of employed persons was 10 million 690 thousand, and the output per capita was 39 thousand US dollars.
In terms of industrial capital structure, China's textile and garment industry is developing towards diversification.
In the textile and garment industry in 1980, state-owned capital accounted for over 80% (Figure 3), and overseas capital and foreign-funded enterprises account for nearly 1/4 of China's textile and garment industry, and exports account for more than 40%, and private capital occupies a leading position.
According to customs statistics, in the first quarter of 2008, textile and foreign-funded enterprises exported 12 billion 900 million US dollars, accounting for 34.4% of China's textile exports.
Through the above figures, we can find that an important advantage of China's textile industry is the supporting ability of the industrial chain. Another advantage is the adjustment of industrial capital structure, the injection of private capital and the important position of overseas capital in capital structure, which greatly improves the industry's viability. The third advantage is that the Chinese textile industry has some cost comparative advantages in the past.
These three advantages constitute the core competitiveness of China's textile industry.
At the same time, China's textile and garment industry is also facing severe challenges, mainly due to the pressure brought by macro-control policies, and the other is the sharp increase in costs, including labor and other labor factor costs.
At present, when upgrading industrial concentration and innovation integration, market share and profit will be concentrated on excellent enterprises; from the past cost orientation to value orientation, in addition, we should also consider the deep-seated problems of industrial development, such as quality assurance system, industry health and sustainable development, corporate social responsibility, environment and other issues.
Two, the "wealth theory" and the value orientation related to industry positioning have made great efforts and great achievements in China's textile industry in the past 30 years.
But why do so many efforts and manpower investment do not bring the expected return on wealth?
There are 3 sources of wealth: first, natural resources create wealth, that is, natural resources of all countries; two, social and economic activities create wealth, including farming, commerce and other economic activities; three, create or create activities to create wealth.
First, look at agriculture. Although all civilizations in the world are originated from agriculture, agriculture is the most primitive, and history is also one of the most important economic activities. However, today, agriculture has been reduced to a subsidized industry all over the world.
Look at industry again. The value created by material production activities today is far below the value created by modern service industries.
Material production is no longer the highest form of wealth creation.
What is the most advanced form of wealth creation?
It is an advanced form of wealth creation to discover resources, recognize resources and improve the utilization of resources.
For example, the Middle East has become rich due to the discovery and utilization of natural resources such as oil, but the real richest is actually a country that has the ability to increase the value of resources.
Another revelation is that changes in people's subjective values and changes in social needs can lead to different judgements of value.
For example, the same clothes, a farmer may judge its value from the use function and fiber material of a garment; a worker may judge its value from the links of garment processing; a businessman may judge its value from the commercial circulation link; and as a brand, it may judge its value from a higher level of design and brand value.
People's fashion pursuit is based on the needs of social development, which is the importance of creative activities. This is what our industry should think about.
We should jump out of the traditional and single form of material production and move towards a higher way.
Our material production activities have new connotations, which bear the connotation of science and technology, culture and humanism.
Therefore, the form of material production is related to the promotion of a value, and the promotion of product value is the responsibility and mission of material production activities.
We should not only pay attention to what products it is, but also what materials and ways to produce it.
We should not only pay attention to the promotion of labor productivity, but also pay attention to harmonious production relations.
From the past to focus on the quality, performance and function of the product itself, we should also pay attention to the social value of the product in the course of its use.
We should actively guide the establishment of a harmonious, healthy and sustainable way of life, which is the "LOHAS" that is very popular in the society.
In terms of value orientation, we must first establish rules and credit, and deal with the contradiction between real interests and long-term interests.
Pay close attention to immediate interests and ignore long-term interests.
Whether in the long run or in the current interest, we need to establish a rule and credit so as to make the industrial development orderly and establish a future expectation.
This rule will reduce paction costs.
In the context of global industrial restructuring, China has seized the opportunities of globalization and developed its economy.
How can we make further contributions to this development now?
China has a huge domestic demand market. How can we have a harmonious and organic coordination between China's standard system and the international standard system?
How can China's culture be embodied in products and achieve the harmony and unification of globalization and Sinicization?
In the past, we advocated a lot of progress in lifestyle, but life style can not just stay in the enjoyment of freedom, but a positive attitude towards life.
So our industry not only provides consumer products, but also shoulders the need to guide a healthy lifestyle in consumption.
Three. The development and positioning of China's textile industry is based on the above thinking of "wealth theory" and value orientation, and we need to further develop China's textile industry.
Innovation is an important direction, breaking through the past, focusing on cost comparative advantage and scale expansion.
Although the current macro-control policies bring difficulties to the development of enterprises, macro-control policies will enhance industries and promote development from another angle.
Crisis means danger and opportunity.
In this crisis, China's textile industry will be "Nirvana" and take off again.
Industry should pay attention to 3 qualities: product quality, personnel quality and operation quality, which is an important factor to improve labor productivity.
The improvement of personnel quality is a key issue.
Although we have excellent workforce, there are still heavy responsibilities for the managers and technicians of the enterprises. The operation quality, quality system and corporate social responsibility are all important factors for improving the quality of operation.
Innovation is not only an innovation of enterprises, but also a combination of industrial chain and centralized innovation.
International brands have many management experiences in the supply chain, which are worthy of reference from domestic enterprises. For example, the social responsibility and corporate financial reporting system abroad, the guiding significance of international product quality standards and testing methods to industry, color standards and color supply chain management, article coding, and foreign suppliers developing products in season, etc., are worth learning from the essence.
For this reason, the domestic textile industry needs to work in supply chain management and integrated innovation.
In the aspect of product quality, based on the establishment of 11 testing centers, we have accelerated the construction of the industry detection network, and built the enterprise testing laboratory and internal quality system in the vast number of enterprises, carried out the research on the coding system of products, and promoted the application of China's national color system CNCS and the Fabrics China tag in the supply chain management of brand enterprises, all of which have been started.
In the aspect of corporate social responsibility construction, the China Textile Industry Association has carried out the promotion of social responsibility construction in the whole industry, formulated the CSC9000T system of China's textile enterprises' social responsibility management, and launched the outline of the CSR Report of China's textile enterprises. The next step is to establish CSR performance libraries in the domestic excellent enterprises and to promote them in the supply chain, so as to help the textile and garment industry listed companies, the national textile product development base enterprises and the top 500 competitive enterprises to publish the CSR annual report.
In the development of industrial creativity, the "fashion and creative space" activities will continue to be held in Shanghai this year.
In addition, Shanghai's textile fashion Silicon Valley will make outstanding fabrics and brand enterprises concentrated in Songjiang, Shanghai, forming R & D concentration.
To sum up, only through close cooperation between all parties inside and outside the industry can we establish a harmonious and sustainable supply chain of textile and apparel.
