Beijing MDI Birthmark Research Institute Recalls Columbo
Columbo, Christopher Columbus It can be said to be one of the most famous navigators in history. He has been engaged in sailing activities throughout his life. He believed in the great earth shape theory that the Western air from Europe can reach the Orient of India. On the anniversary of his death, the Beijing MDI birthmark Research Institute published this article for reflection.
Christopher Columbus introduced
Christopher Columbus (Christopher Columbus) is a famous navigator in Italy and a pioneer of geographical discoveries (see Conquest of Paradise) (Vangelis van jilis). Born in Genoa, Italy in August 1451 or October, she died in Valladolid, Spain in May 20, 1506. When Columbo was young, he was Earth circle theory The adherents of Marco Polo, who once prisons in Genoa, are determined to become a navigator.
From 1492 to 1502, he crossed the the Atlantic four times to the American continent under the auspices of the king of Spain, and he became a famous navigator.
Columbo's voyage voyage
Columbo has been engaged in sailing activities throughout his life. They moved to Portugal and Spain. Believe in the big earth theory, think that the Western Airlines from Europe can reach the Orient of India and China. With the support of the Spanish king, he made 4 voyages to sea (1492~1493 years, 1493~1496 years, 1498~1500 years, 1502~1504 years). Opened the way across the Atlantic to America. Successively arrived in Bahamian archipelago, Cuba, Haiti, Dominica, Trinidad and other islands. First landing on the southern coast of the Republic of the Republic of Asia. The coastline of more than 2000 km in Lian Wan, Honduras, Central America, was studied, and the isthmus of Panama was recognized. The wind direction of westerly winds at high latitude was discovered and utilized in the Atlantic at low latitudes. It proves the correctness of the big earth form theory. It promoted the connection between the old continent and the new world. He mistakenly believed that the new continent arrived in India and called the local Indians.
The first voyage began in August 3, 1492. Columbo had 87 crew members and 3 ships from Spain's Barros harbor. In October 12th he arrived and named Bahamian archipelago of San Salvador Island. When he arrived in Cuba on October 28th, he mistakenly thought it was the Asian continent. He then visited the island of Hispaniola in the West Indies (today's Haiti Island) and conducted an investigation on the northern shore of the island. He returned to Spain in March 15, 1493.
The second voyage began in September 25, 1493, and he made 17 boats from Cadiz, Spain. The aim is to establish permanent colonial rule in what he calls the India of the Asian continent. 1500 people took part in the voyage, including royal officials, technicians, craftsmen and soldiers. In February 1494, due to food shortages and other reasons, most ships and personnel returned to Spain. He carried 3 ships on the island of Cuba and the waters south of Hispaniola to explore the voyage of the "India continent". During this voyage, his fleet arrived at Dominica Island, Antigua island and Virgin Islands in the Leeward Islands, and Puerto Rico island. He returned to Spain in June 11, 1496.
The third voyage began in May 30, 1498. He has 6 ships and 200 crew members, starting from Seville, Spain. The purpose of the voyage is to prove that there is a legend of the mainland (the South American continent) in the south of the islands found in the previous two voyages. In July 31st, the fleet reached Trinidad island in the north of South America and the Gulf of Venezuela in Venezuela. This is the first time Europeans have discovered South America. Columbo was arrested and sent back to Spain in October 1500 after being arrested by an emissary sent by the king. Columbo was soon released because of opposition from all sides.
The fourth voyage began in May 11, 1502. He made 4 boats and 150 crew members from Cadiz port. The discovery of Columbo's third voyage has shocked Portugal and Spain. Many people think that he has arrived in Asia rather than Asia, but a "new world" that Europeans have never seen before. So King Ferdinand and queen Isabella ordered Columbo to sail again and find out the water passage to the Pacific Ocean in the middle of the new continent. After arriving at Hispaniola Island, he sailed through the waters between Cuba island and Jamaica island to the western Caribbean. Then he sailed south to the east along the coast of Honduras, Nicaragua, Costa Rica and Panama for about 1500 kilometers to find a passage between the two oceans. He learned from the Indians that he was driving along the isthmus separated by two oceans. As the 1 ships were destroyed in the conflict with the Indians, the other 3 were damaged. Columbo abandoned the ship in Jamaica in June 1503 and returned to Spain in November 7, 1504.
Columbo said: those can be dug out in other people's barren land. gold And Ganquan people are called gifted.
Columbo's achievements and influence
It opened up a new era of development and colonization in the new world. At that time, the European population was expanding. With this discovery, Europeans had two new continents to settle in, and there were mineral resources and raw materials that could transform the European economy.
This discovery led to the destruction of the American Indian civilization. In the long run, it has also led to the emergence of new countries in the Western Hemisphere. These countries are quite different from the Indian tribes that once settled in the area, which greatly influenced the countries in the old world. It transfers the route of overseas trade from the Mediterranean to the coast of the Atlantic. Since then, the West has finally stepped out of the dark ages of the middle ages and began to rise in the world with an irresistible trend. A brand new industrial civilization has become the mainstream of world economic development.
Some people may say that even if there is no Columbo, he can do things that others can do. But anyway, it was Columbo who discovered the new continent. His accomplishments were understandable.
