The main purpose of the exhibition held by the Ministry of industry and trade of Nepal is to promote the increase of domestic leather goods and footwear manufacturers' share in the domestic market.

However, Nepalese consumers, though buying Nepalese brand leather or shoe products, are likely to be importing Nepalese trademarks for sale.

According to Nepalese Ministry of industry and trade officials, Nepal now needs 50 million pairs of shoes every year, and Nepal's shoe companies can meet 65% of the demand.
