French Fashion Group SMCP Achieves Growth
France Fashion Group SMCP (its three brands, Sandro, Maje and Claudie Pierlot) recently released its 2014 fiscal year performance bulletin. The main points are as follows: benefiting from the accelerated expansion of the retail market in the international market, sales revenue in 2014 increased by 20.5% to 508 million 600 thousand euros compared with 2013. Affected by the depression of the French local market, the same store sales in 2014 increased by 1.7% compared to the same period in 2013, which was 2.1 percentage points lower than that in 2013.
By Region:
As the world's largest market, the French mainland Sales volume The proportion of the group's total sales decreased year by year. In 2013, the ratio was 64.8%, compared to 58.5% in 2014.
The increase in retail stores promoted sales revenue by 8.4%, while same store sales increased by 0.9% over the same period last year. Although this figure is still higher than the average growth rate of the French clothing market, 0.1%
Like France, the growth rate of SMCP in Western European markets (except France) has also slowed down. In 2014, same store sales increased by 4.7% over the same period last year, down 4.5 percentage points from 2013.
The North American and Asian markets perform best, though SMCP does not have long access to these two markets.
New store distribution:
In 2014, SMCP launched the global expansion process, adding 91 new retail outlets, 80% of which opened overseas.
In the past year, SMCP has opened about 20 new stores in the French domestic market, pushing sales revenue up by 8.4%.
SMCP 28 new stores have been opened in Western Europe, mainly in the UK and Italy markets. In addition, Norway has opened 4 new stores in the New Nordic market.
SMCP entered the North American market in 2011, and opened 22 new stores last year to boost sales revenue by 42.3%.
It was not until 2013 that SMCP entered the Asian market outside Hongkong. Last year, the group opened 5 retail stores in mainland China and opened its first store in Singapore. The number of Asian stores increased to 35.
SMCP will publish its annual report on fiscal 2014 in April this year.
