Chen Yong said, because formaldehyde has the hazards of chronic carcinogenesis and teratogenicity, most countries in the world have clear regulations on formaldehyde content in clothing, but the standards are not uniform.

"China has strict requirements for formaldehyde content in children's clothing, and it is higher than most countries in Europe and the United States."

Therefore, many international high-end brand children's clothing can not meet our national standards, children wear safety risks.

In Changsha's Yue Fang's "GAP" children's wear shop, the reporter met Ms. Chen who brought her grandchildren to buy clothes.

Recently, AQSIQ revealed that in 2015 1-5, the national entry exit inspection and quarantine agency detected 5778 batches of imported children's products which failed to import, an increase of 103% over the same period, involving a value of $123 million 800 thousand.

Clothing importers reflect that they do not know the requirements and differences between domestic and foreign laws and regulations.

If the packaging labels were not qualified, the importers could be sold in the domestic market after rectification, and if the formaldehyde content and pH value were not qualified, the importers must return or destroy them.
