Xinjiang Corps High-Quality Cotton Base Won 200 Million Construction Funds

The high quality cotton base is the only four consecutive five years of superior agricultural product bases supported by the state.

This year, the state has invested 200 million yuan in the central government, and continues to support the construction of a high-quality cotton base in the Xinjiang regiment.

The feasibility study report of the base construction project was co compiled by the Xinjiang autonomous region and the Xinjiang Corps. The central government invested 200 million yuan, an increase of 1/3 over the previous year, which is the sum of the 2012 and 2014 central investment arrangements.

It is mainly used in three aspects: the supporting pformation of cotton seed industrialization, the construction of cotton fields with high efficiency and stable production, and the configuration of machine picked cotton.

At present, the preliminary work of the project has been basically complete. The Xinjiang Corps will first launch the first batch of central investment 161 million yuan recently, with a total of 37 construction projects.

The reporter understands that the key construction contents of the "Xinjiang" high quality cotton base construction project in 12th Five-Year are "good seed industrialization" supporting pformation project, high-efficiency and stable cotton production project, and cotton picking facilities. It focuses on solving the problems of high cost of harvesting workers, low consistency of raw cotton, poor matching of irrigation and drainage system in cotton field and high proportion of saline alkali land in the current production of Xinjiang Corps. The total investment of the project is 715 million yuan (the central budget is 500 million yuan).

Among them, the supporting pformation of improved seed industrialization is 70 million yuan, 272 million 500 thousand yuan for efficient and stable production of cotton field construction, and 344 million yuan for the construction of auxiliary facilities for machine picked cotton.

The Xinjiang Corps will improve the cotton industry system through the construction of the "high quality cotton base" in 12th Five-Year, and comprehensively promote the production of high-quality cotton. The planting area of the high quality cotton base will be stable at 7 million 500 thousand mu, with an average yield of 173 kg per mu, and the total output will reach 1 million 300 thousand tons.

The overall quality of cotton has reached the international level, and the quality of some cotton types has reached the international advanced level.

Xinjiang Corps is an important commercial cotton production base in China. In recent years, the cotton sown area has been stabilized at more than 9 million mu. The annual output of cotton accounts for more than 1/5 of the country's total, and its export volume accounts for half of the total.

Cotton yield per unit area is far higher than that of the whole country and the world average level. Cotton grade one and two grade rate keeps at 80%, quality cotton grade and commodity rate ranks first in China.

In 2014, the Xinjiang cotton Corps planted an area of 10 million 508 thousand and 500 mu, cotton output of 1 million 636 thousand and 100 tons, an increase of 11.7%, and cotton mechanical harvesting area of more than 70%.
