Changji city held, Xinjiang Academy of Agricultural Sciences experts released the "cotton target price reform analysis of the impact of the cotton industry" report.

The report shows that in 2014, the average output value of cotton per mu in Xinjiang was 1962.6 yuan, while the average cost per mu was 2143.2 yuan.

The market price is about 5.5 yuan per kilogram.

After the sale of cotton, the average yield per mu was -208.56 yuan. After obtaining the cotton planting area and yield subsidy, the income per mu area was 267.63 yuan, the average yield per mu was 176.76 yuan, the average yield per mu was 235.8 yuan.

As the only province in the country to reform the target price of cotton, the target price of cotton in Xinjiang last year was 19800 yuan per ton of lint.

When the market price is lower than the target price, the state subsidize the cotton producers in Xinjiang. When the market price is higher than the target price, no subsidy is given.

Through the pilot of target price, Xinjiang first found out the bottom of cotton planting.

In 2014, Xinjiang cultivated 39 million 975 thousand mu of cotton and total output of 3 million 510 thousand tons, far exceeding the 25 million 995 thousand mu and 3 million 500 thousand tons figures previously announced.

According to the survey, 50% of the about 2500000 farmers in Xinjiang are engaged in cotton production, and the average cotton planting area is 12 mu. There are 46 thousand households who grow more than 50 mu of cotton.

According to investigation and analysis, under the condition of increasing labor cost, the average planting area per household is the main reason for the continuous reduction of cotton growing efficiency in Xinjiang.

The survey also showed that part of the yield of seed cotton in 220 - 250 kilograms of low yield cotton fields, even with subsidized income, is still unproductive.

For cotton fields that are not illegal in the subsidized areas, most of them will not benefit from the subsidized income. This will force the illegal land to be withdrawn and help protect the environment.

Statistics show that Xinjiang's cotton planting area has been reduced by about 4000000 Mu this year.
