During the Liuhua international clothing festival, a customer came to ask for a pair of trousers in an offline experience shop in the people's North Road, Yuexiu District, Guangzhou.
The salesman first comes up with a standard trousers for the customer to try on, and then adjusts appropriately according to the tightness of the waist, thigh and calf.
When all data are input through the experience shop system, almost at the same time, the intelligent tailoring robot located in Shunde's Junan Town, 50 kilometers away, will automatically tailor the tailor according to the size of the customer, and then be sewn by the skilled worker.
In this way, a customized pair of trousers can be made in less than an hour, and delivered to the customer's hands within third hours by the 72 party logistics company.
In the town of Junan, a major producer of jeans in Shunde, the development time of the company was not long. The garment company established in 2008 was primarily engaged in export foundry as most local factories. However, due to its bad luck, the company soon met the global financial turmoil.
However, unlike the negative impact of the passive acceptance of the economic environment, Fan Youbin found a new direction in this economic crisis. "With the decline of most customers' orders, we found that a cooperative client has achieved growth.
By querying the order details, it is found that this enterprise is mainly customized, which was very rare at that time.
Fan Youbin, like the discovery of the new world, began to study the hidden opportunities behind personalized customization.
To this end, he led the team for 4 years of research and development, invested nearly 40 million yuan, successfully developed the world's first intelligent tailoring robot.
Compared with traditional manual cutting, intelligent tailoring robots use laser technology to reduce the cutting time from about 30 minutes to an hour to 18 seconds, and adjust the size according to different data to meet the needs of personalized tailoring.
This original technology has also brought a series of honor to ESTAR. With this smart tailoring project, ESTAR has won the first place of the 2013 China Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition (Guangdong competition area), and was recognized as Guangdong's high-tech product in 2014, and has been awarded a special fund of 20 million yuan in Guangdong Province.

"At the beginning, our pformation path is similar to many traditional enterprises. We want to become an" Internet + "enterprise and connect consumers with our smart tailoring system through the network platform.
Fan Youbin introduced that consumers can choose the parameters of clothing size, color, pattern and cloth by submitting the Internet customized platform, and submit orders to them.
In order to achieve automatic docking of design, production and sales, Asta developed an intelligent BMS production management system based on Intelligent tailoring robot to provide technical support for rapid mass production of customized products.
The business model initially explored by AI is almost the ideal form of people's imagination of Internet production. It is open, interactive and fast, but its effect is not satisfactory. "We have been working hard to meet the needs of consumers, but most consumers are disposable, and there are few repeat customers. This shows that we are definitely not doing well."
After some exploration, Fan Youbin believes that the crux of the problem is that only relying on the Internet to connect with consumers, there is no effective interaction and can not convey the brand value to consumers. In addition, some consumers lack of professional design concepts and clothing knowledge will also cause DIY's clothes may not be suitable for themselves.
So he decided to connect with customers under the offline experience store through the online regression line. "Offline experience shop allows us to directly contact with customers, so that customers who really have customized service needs can have a deeper understanding of us."
Fan Youbin said that ED has experienced a change from "Internet +" to "+ Internet". With this change, the enterprise has a new understanding of the needs of consumers. "We thought that our target customers were mainly young people pursuing individuality. But after line contact, it was found that those who really had customized needs were those who had a headache for buying clothes because of their special body shape. Later we found that most people would have a headache for buying clothes, especially for people over 35 years old."
This change of understanding allowed Fan Youbin to reassess the positioning of enterprises. He believed that the mission of EST was to provide services for tailoring shops in the past for this group of people. "Unlike us, as a tailoring shop in the Internet age, the price is cheaper, and the product can be delivered to customers in 72 hours."

Through the adjustment of business mode, Guangzhou has rapidly cut into a new blue ocean, and customer loyalty has been greatly improved. "Take our experience shop in Renmin Road as an example, 60% of the customers are repeat customers, of which there are 6 custom-made clothes."
With the promotion of this mode, Asta's popularity in the industry is increasing, attracting famous clothing brands including GAP to seek cooperation. For brands, the biggest advantage of introducing AI's remote customized intelligent production system is that it can first consume and produce, so as to achieve zero inventory in garment industry. For the company, although it has its own offline experience shop, it has no intention of pforming into a terminal retailer. In Fan Youbin's view, it is a more pragmatic option than the experience shop under the self built line, and cooperation with the brand clothing enterprises. "We finally hope to become a clothing intelligent manufacturing solution service provider. Before that, we first need to build a huge database, which contains a huge amount of consumer information and can be crawled at any time."
Fan Youbin believes that the core competitiveness of the future will be reflected in this database, so long as we have enough customer data, we will be able to grasp the voice of the industry and maximize the value.
Through cooperation with brands, they will be able to directly borrow their developed offline channels to improve the database construction.
When alstar has successfully pformed from a traditional OEM enterprise to a service provider, it will change the rules of the game in the whole industry.
