China'S First Baby Textile National Standard Introduced Industry May Face A New Shuffle!

The mandatory national standard for products will be formally implemented in June 1st next year.

Especially in the important textile producing areas of the country, enterprises should respond in advance according to the standards.

The standard is GB31701-2015 "infant and children textile product safety technical specification", aiming at 36 months and 3 to 14 years old children, pition period to May 31, 2018.

During the pition period, products manufactured and met the relevant standard requirements before June 1, 2016 will continue to be sold in the market.

From June 1, 2018 onwards, all relevant products on the market must meet the requirements of this standard.

This standard further standardizes the safety technical requirements. After the formal implementation, the baby textile industry may face the situation of reshuffling.

If the enterprise fails to update it in time, it is likely to be eliminated by the market.

Textile and clothing

For many years, it ranks the top of the province, and has maintained a relatively strong momentum of development in the whole industry when it faces multiple pressures and resistance barriers. According to statistics, 40% of the textile and clothing produced and sold in our city are baby products, and most of the textile and garment enterprises in our city are small and micro enterprises. In the face of the introduction of GB31701, they should be treated as early as possible and take the initiative in the market so as to achieve sustainable development.

Therefore, the municipal inspection and Quarantine Bureau recommends that the textile and garment enterprises in our city should strengthen the learning of new standards, grasp the new standard requirements through relevant departments' training, network media and WeChat public platform, strictly grasp the raw materials and auxiliary materials, ensure the safety of raw and auxiliary materials from the source, attach importance to the safety of children's clothing design, ensure compliance with the standard requirements, pay attention to key processes such as printing and dyeing, ensure that plasticizers and heavy metals do not exceed the limit requirements, make full use of the standards to implement the pition period, and speed up the upgrading of technology; because the production and sales cycle of textile products is longer, the inventory needs a certain period of time, and enterprises should make production according to the new standards in advance, so as to ensure the quality and safety of products meet the requirements after the implementation of the new standards.
