Dongguan's Manufacturing Industry Is Now Moving Southeast Asia.

In December 2014, the International Labour Organization released the global wage report, which showed that Vietnam's average monthly salary in 2012 was 181 US dollars, Indonesia's US $174, and Thailand's US $357.

According to the statistics of Guangdong Bureau of statistics, the average monthly wage of the workers in Guangdong in 2012 was 4215 yuan (about 654 US dollars), and in 2014 it had risen to 4957 yuan.

The competition for cheap labor in Southeast Asia is coming. For China's manufacturing industry, the only way to solve it is to locate its position more accurately on the global industrial chain.

In Zhu Xiaodan's view, the rising cost factor, the gradual decline of demographic dividend, and the increasingly tight land resources and environmental factors have become the main constraint factors for the development of Guangdong's manufacturing industry. Moreover, the total manufacturing industry in Guangdong is very large, but the overall quality is not too high. In terms of industrial structure, innovation ability, product quality, standards and brands, and information level, there is still a big gap between the development level of the international advanced manufacturing industry and the international level. "Overall evaluation, Guangdong's manufacturing industry is still at the middle and low end of the global industrial value chain."

As a big province of China's manufacturing industry, the difficult position of manufacturing industry in Guangdong also represents the predicament of China's manufacturing industry to some extent.

Recently, the Jiangsu investigation team of the National Bureau of statistics has conducted a detailed survey of nearly 50 manufacturing enterprises in South of Jiangsu. The survey shows that domestic manufacturing industry has been attacked by the high-end manufacturing industry from the western developed countries and the rise of the Southeast Asian low-end manufacturing industry. The market space has been greatly reduced, coupled with the continuous rise in labor costs, the limited land available for development, and the increasing demand for environmental and resource protection.

In South of Jiangsu, overcapacity, insufficient internal and external demand, declining product prices, rising financing and labor costs seriously restrict the development of local manufacturing industry. Transformation and upgrading has become an urgent task for all manufacturing enterprises in South of Jiangsu.

Bai Ming, deputy director of the international market research department of the Ministry of Commerce, said: "the pformation and upgrading task of the manufacturing industry needs to be integrated into the system innovation. At the same time, the pformation and upgrading of the manufacturing industry is related to the service industry, including R & D, marketing, logistics, finance and so on, and this producer service industry has a bigger appreciation."

And the early entry into the "new normal" of Guangdong has opened the curtain of pformation and upgrading of manufacturing industry.

According to Zhu Xiaodan, Guangdong will break through the main problems of lack of core technology, low industrial level, imperfect industrial chain, low total factor productivity, imperfect green and low carbon cycle development mode, and promote the pformation of Guangdong from manufacturing big province to manufacturing strong province, and changing Guangdong manufacturing to create Guangdong.
